Clunking comming from front left

i have a 2007 tsx that has a clunking noise comming from the driverside front, i hear it really bad when im leaving my drive way, its pretty long and turns to the left, i dont hear it when i com home or when i was driving around so i though it must just be my driveway, but the past couple days ive been hearing it while im going over bumpy roads or speed bumps so ive ruled out it being my driveway, when i push down on the car it dosnt bounce so i know the shock isnt blown, or at least pretty sure, but when i push down the drivers side it makes a sqeak noise almost like a tire turning on a car port, thats all i have to go on, it dosnt do it all the time, and i cant seem to find a way to reproduce the noise to pin point it, any help is appreciated

Sounds like your lower control arm bushing(s) crapped out.
Ask me how I know it.

When I was looking at it last night I noticed that the top of the shock wasn't tighten down, the screw and nut that you need a wrench and Allen key to tighten, I tightened it and it didn't make the noise this morning, but I'll see if it was just a coincidence, could the clunking have been that simple?

A loose shock will definitely clunk. Also worn/damaged anti-sway bar link can cause clunking, usually in a turn when a bump is encountered.

good luck

I've had the loose end links before but those are fixed, the clunking started after I put my stock suspension back in, that's why I'm hoping it's something simple not something that's gona cost $500 cause I can afford that right now

Just checked the control arm bushing, it's good, I went down a bumpy road that I would have heard the clunking on before and didn't hear it, I'm praying it was just the top hat that I tightened, anything else I could check just as preventative?

tsx's are known for this and tl's to. there are many threads about clunking from the front. some people took their car to acura and one guy said that the tech laughed and said watch this; All he did was put the car on lift and put it down and the noise was gone. A lot of people have replaces sway bar bushing, tie rods, ball joints, etc to no avail. people also say engine mounts. Acura knows about the problem and are trying to find out why it clunks b/c the new tsx's are doing it also. My 05 does it coming out of the drive way and making u-turns at almost full lock. I think its my shocks since they have 156k miles on them. when i get a little money ill get some new suspension and see if that helps, if not oh well, the clunk doesnt seem to give any negative affects while driving so its not a big deal for me.
