Climate Control Acting Strange

I have an '04 TSX (CG/Ebony/6-MT/Navi) & I've had an issue with my climate controls about 3 or 4 times in the past week. While driving with the controls set to defrost/floor (72 degrees), it will completely shut off after about 10 minutes. When I go to turn it back on, I get "Please Operate Climate Control After Starting Engine" on my screen & none of it will turn on...nothing. Even the outside temperature in the info. center between the speedo & tach shows "--" for the temperature. If you completely stop the car, wait 10 seconds & restart it, it'll work but it does the same thing after several minutes. I've only noticed this with defrost/floor on. I've had it strictly on floor for a couple of days & haven't noticed anything strange. Any ideas?

Sounds like something wrong in the HVAC computer. I doubt it'll be anything you could fix yourself. The dealer would probably just replace it instead of even trying to fix it. Are you out of warranty?

I'm not even sure what the warranty is. 3 year/36,000 miles? I've had it for 4 years & have 32,000 miles on it.

You don't know what the warrenty on your car is? You're smarter than the average joe by finding this board, and you don't know that?

Acuras have a 4year/50,000 mile bumper to bumper warrenty, whichever hits first. I believe the 4 years is from the date of sale. Major bummer if you are over by a month or two.

I would definitely think you could get some good will service on that. I'm guessing you haven't used the warranty much, if it all from the way you're talking about it. They owe you.
