Hi,

new to forums. recently got an 06 TSX. everything is great except the fading Milano Red color on the car.

Well I found a shop that will do a Basecoeat Clearcoat paint job for the whole car for $500.

just needed some advice if I shud go ahead and get it done? or would it screw the paint completely?


the roof hood and trunk top show more signs of pinkish color. from the sides car looks fine.

also near the door windows its fading to a pink.


should I go for a $500 total car re-spray? the guy guranteed it will be a base-coat clear coat deal and none of that other enamel crap.

My experience w/ low cost paint job is not positvie (Maaco). My daughter was convinced they could improve appearance of 94 EX Accord. It turned out horrible. I did a DiY job which was some better.

I would want to see some examples of their work.

As with most things in life, you get what pay for with paint work; it's pretty much all labor. You're not alone as you will find that there are very few Milano red TSX's that aren't faded just like yours. I hope you got a good deal on the car, cause I can't imagine you'll find a really decent paint job for less than around $2K.

 

My wife's '008 MR still oooks good except for the rock chips. Car was waxed 3X a year - that is needed for Milano Red.
