Question Catalytic Convertor

The honeycomb mesh thingy in the cat came loose and since i already have 59k miles my warranty doesn't cover it. It rattles like a baby with a can of dice on ecstasy... (metaphorically speaking, never seen it before... ) but anywho, it rattles so loud especially idling in drive. Switching to neutral helps a bit but it still makes that retarded sound when my AC is kicked on, I guess from the fan. Anyone know if that's fixable or do I just have to replace it altogether, and if so, what would be the best bang for the buck.

-_- I always have to roll my windows up now at stop lights so people don't look at me like I'm driving a lemon...

Injen Intake
DC Sports Headers <-
Comptech Springs < - wondering if these 2 are the culprits, either from installation or underbody scrape... just this one time when I was really drunk and drove over a speed bump a bit too fast... (the "CLUNK" sound felt like someone took a steak knife and stabbed my heart)

thanks for any of the help!

The cat should be covered for 80,000 miles or 8 years, I think. Call your local dealer.

Maybe someone should have stabbed you with a steak knife for driving drunk in the first place!

:thumbsdow

Any abuse could be a possible source.

I believe there is a separate emissions warranty, so as nbtx said try calling your local dealership. It's worth a try.

The speed bump, in all likelihood, did not hit the cat....I doubt that's the issue.

I'm not sure about the cat, but different parts of the emissions system have longer warrenties in about 6 states that have stricter emissions laws. I know 3 of them off the top of my head are Cali, Vermont(???) and PA.

The warrenty book that came with my 08 clearly talked about what specific parts have what length warrenties, and long long it was by state.
