Car shutting off immediatly after starting (randomly)
Hey guys, After 13 years of owning my 00 TL, she was totaled in a accident and i bought a 07 TSX with 61000 miles on it.. The car has been amazing (for 3 months) except for a issue that is, at this point, mainly an annoyance. About 3 or 4 times after starting the car (right at the point where you release the key from the forward starting position and the car has officially "started" it immediately turns off. If you try and restart it immediately... it will make the sound as if i had a dead battery, barley turning over... But if i let it sit for about 15 seconds it cranks right up and everything is great. Any ideas for figuring this out? Bad battery? I was thinking that might be it but every other time i crank it up, it turns over extremely easily and starts smoothly.. *shrugs* Thanks!

Is there a chance that our cars also have the standard Honda issue of a bad fuel pump relay that likes to act up?
If that were the cause, then the car would still crank normally but it just wouldn't start. I would try replacing the battery - if its older than 4 years it probably needs to be replaced. The stock Panasonic thing that came in my car only lasted 4 years and then it was done.

Suggest checking battery cables for good, clean connections.
Slow start and engine stoppage may not be related.
Do you notice whether Check Engine, Alt, Oil Pressure lights come on immediately when engines stops? If not, an intermittent keyswitch assy may be causing the engine stoppage. It can be highly intermittent. You need to "catch in the act" to be sure. Easy DIY though.
good luck
