car doesn't start
It's 4 am Eastern time and I can't sleep because I'm pissed off at something. My 3 week old TSX is sitting out in my garage dead as a door nail. I tried to start it last night and all I get is a whirring noise from the engine compartment.. No crank. Nada. I am waiting till the moring to call roadside assistance. I will keep you advised.

thanks for your posts...
Thanks for your posts. This board is a great forum for TSX owners and I knew I would get a good response to my post.
I have an ebony MT. Tried everything to get it started but nothing worked. I love the car so it was very sad to sit in the passenger seat of the tow truck on the way to the dealership. The dealer gave me an RSX loaner and told me to call later to find out what the problem is. I will post the dealers diagnosis.

dealer diagnosis
Dealer told me car needs a new starter. Naturally, first time they ever saw that on a TSX. Lucky me. Dealer chalks it up to a bad part.
Anyone else need a new starter within the first month of ownership? Otherwise a GREAT car...

There have been others on this board who have shown concern about the quality of the starter. This could be a thorn in our sides down the road. After 1986 Honda became aware of how good they were building their autos - not enough service calls. Therefore IMHO they started to use more inferior parts in hopes of bringing more business on the service side.

Interesting post. I noticed my TSX seems to have some minor trouble starting (i.e. I have to crank the key for a few milliseconds longer than I am used to with other cars). I checked the battery, which seems fresh. Since the car starts all the time, I'm not worrying about it until it actually fails. One strange thing though.....I took the car for servicing for a totally unrelated reason and now it seems to start better....not sure what happened.
