Bug in the 2006 TSX MID (multi-information display)

think there's a bug in the 2006 TSX MID display unit. After setting up the MID in my brand new 2006 TSX to display the elapsed time and trip A odometer, a blank screen is shown the next time I start up the car. The funny thing is, this behavior depends on when I put my seat belt on, and when I release the E-brakes.

First let me explain how you can get it to work properly:
After setting up the MID to display, the next time you get into your car, put your seatbelt on first, then put your key in the ignition and start it up. Wait until the "DRL ON" (Daytime running lights, I have a Canadian TSX) info screen comes on, release the E-brakes. The MID will then resume to the display you had setup before.

Here's are a couple of scenarios where it doesn't work:
1) After setting up the MID, the next time you get into your car, put your key into the ignition, turn your key to the II "On" position, then put on your seat belt. Next start the car and now no matter what you do, the MID will not show up; it'll just stays blank.

2) After setting up the MID, the next time you get into your car, put your seatbelt on first, then put your key in the ignition and start it up. If you don't give time for the "DRL ON" info screen to come on before releasing the E-brakes, the MID will also remain blank.

In fact there's a lot of different combinations I've tried that will blank out the MID screen on a startup. This really sucks because I hate having to press the "i" button everytime I start up my car! I tested this problem with several 2006 demos @ the dealership and found the same exact problem. Does this problem bother your guys out there? Does the US version of the TSX have the same problem? What can I do about this?

In the loaner TSX I just had for several days, it was always blank after startup. Was that way on the loaner TL and loaner RL I had, as well.
