Brake pad wear indicator

I'm probably going to change my front brake pads this weekend have done brakes many times but never giving it alot of thought which way should the pad with the wear indicator be placed outboard or inboard side?
Thanks for your input

Thanks Texas should the wear indicator be pointing toward the front or the rear?

They should only go on one way.
And just FYI do not try to compress your piston, these twist back into postition. I bought a new tool on eBay that attached to a socket wrench that works really well, or you can use something like a long screw driver to place into the piston slot to rotate them.

Only rear calipers require rotation to retract piston. Front pistons can be compressed w/ C-clamp or other tool.

good luck
