Best method for removing rust from calipers?

Like the title of the thread says. After several New England winters my calipers are accumulating rust. Any suggestions for removal?

steel brush...

Thats what I normally use before painting calipers. I plan to paint mine black this spring anyhow, just so the rust doesn't show.

steel brush will do the job... I painted my brakes with hammerite, see www.hammerite.com ... I don't know if it's available in america. It's designed for painting over rust, it's not specially made for brakes but it's a lot cheaper and works much better in my opinion...and lots of colors
All corrosion stays away and it's been looking good for 3 years now. I applied 2 layers. Don't worry about heating... it will hold.

Hammerite is probably similar to Tremclad rust paint here in north america. Good stuff, although I'd prefer the caliper paint OR high-temp BBQ / Valve Cover paint on brakes, just in case the heat does affect it.

I spray one or two light coats, followed by two medium coats (never enough to leave a drip), and it's normally enough.
