$20/ea for those. They have a set sans one of the extra connection posts for $16/ea at partsexpress.com.

So basically everyone should get that fixed before it happens

Yup, that's why for vehicles with the affected VIN range, it is a recall (it is at least here in Australia).

Recommendation, try your hardest to not let the tie down hooks come out of their holes while you install the battery. Its a tight fit, but it is 100% doable.

Hmm....I wonder if there's a picture I could see or better yet a walkthrough to this but if not I'll do my best. Should I pull on the tie downs really hard? I'm looking at Jtso's thread located https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=redtop . Am I suppose to be able to see it in that picture?

You'll see when you go to unscrew the nuts at the top of the bracket. That is a threaded rod with hooks on the other end. As you tighten down the nuts, they pull up on the hooks at the bottom (just a solid rod) and the hooks are inserted into a tab off the metal tray. Because the width of the base of the Optima batter is larger, it is a tight fit for the hooks. Removing the battery is about as simple as putting gas in your car other than you want to remove the negative first, then the positive. Put the Positive back on first and then the negative.

Yes. If you don't, you won't have enough height to secure it down using the stock battery tie down bracket. Unless you're like JTso and have access to heavy duty aluminum and a cutter, just use that tray.

Hmm...the problem seems to have came back. The car starts and there's a dying sound but since it sounds like the engine is running, I release the key. The engine then dies. What the heck is going on? Do you guys think it's the spark plugs?

Not really. That's because it seems like the warm weather is allowing to start up better. The car still starts horribly once in a blue moon.
