Bad air sensor (so I'm told)
Hey gang! Calling from Russia.
I have a new (3,500 kms) Honda Accord (European version of the TSX). A few days ago the Check Engine turned on; took the car to the dealer, he said bad gasoline may have caused the problem; the spark plugs were all smoked and dirty, they cleaned 'em and sent me off saying that I should be careful where I fill up. A few days later - same thing, only now it stalled on red lights.
Took if back for servicing; they spent a day pocking around and diagnosing with all their equipment and then told me that there was a mechanical problem with the Air sensor, which needs to be replaced. They gave me a parts number - 36531RBB003 and said that it will take about a month to get here; meanwhile i should not use the car or use it only for long drives 'cause it will most likely stall at low RPMs. They are still working out whether the warranty covers it (!&^%&^$#%!!!!!) claiming that I am the only 'lucky'one among all the 2003 Accord owners in Moscow and that they have not heard of anything like this before...
Has anybody had anything like this???
Also, would it make sense to get an identical part in the US and DHL it here??
Thanx

no but from the descriptiion your giving it could be the o2 sensor. it checks to see what the fuel mixture is. if the plugs are black then you were running way too rich. a side effect from this can lead to engine damage because the extra fuel in the engine will wash the oil from the cylender walls and cause premature wear.
hopefully they cought it soon enough that it hasnt caused any damage.
