Back to dealer...a fix...some gossip about rattles

Took my TSX to the dealer to have my first oil change. The dealer is a 100 miles up the highway from me. The Service Manager owns a TSX. He picked his up the same day I got mine. I mentioned the right side door rattle. He said he had the same problem. "Did you get it fixed?", I asked. No he did not. He said they have been trying different "solutions" suggested by the Regional Rep but to no avail. The next thing they are going to try is different placements of Dynamat to see if they can get this rattle resolved. It was good to talk to a Service Manager that doesn't give excuses or "could not duplicate". I'm glad he had a TSX. I did get a problem resolved that has been annoying me. I've been hearing a clunking sound at low speed in the front hub/strut assy. I thought it might be the anti-lock thing. After a test drive the Service Manager and Tech said it sounded like the front sub-assembly was loose. They retorqued the front sub assembly and all suspension components. The noise is gone now. So, all and all, it was a good trip to the dealer. He said he would call if/when they get the rattle fixed.

Sounds good. And about the rattle, this is the kind of attitude and approach that we need from Acura -- none of those blank looks!

(Even though I still don't have any rattles.)

Interesting. It seems that darth62 may have actually had this rattle fixed, and it sounds like it wasnt a big deal. But we could be dealing with 2 different problems. Maybe we can get your dealer to call darths dealer and figure this out?

If we can help facilitate a fix maybe Acura will give us a medal or something

Ok fdl i think you should have his dealer call your dealer bc it seems like your dealer is really on the ball. Especially if your dealers manager owns a tsx. Seems like the ball is rolling we just need to give it a push and soon every dealer will know about a fix for the rattle. Yes?

Not my dealer...darths dealer. Thats who he needs to call. If bama and darth are ok with this I think it could be useful.

I'd prefer that you PM him the number and name rather than posting it. I think my dealer would be less than thrilled if he got deluged by callers because I posted his number here.

I called my guy. He said he would call your guy. He told me if the fix is something he hasn't tried already he would do it to his TSX and let me know. I told him to call me however it goes so I can report back here. He hasn't called back yet.
