Aux Input on Stereo Sys. Anyone know how to access this input?

Hello again everyone,

Was wondering if anyone out there has any experience or technical information regarding access to the Aux Port that exists (well I'm assuming it exists....the input select enables me to access it and it's labelled) on my '05 TSX 6 CD Changer / Head Unit.

Cannot find any external connection or information to confirm its physical existence and where it may be. Do the wiring harnesses have connections that are simply not utilized for an external jack?

CD changer is on the fritz and instead of shelling-out $300-some bucks for a replacement unit I'd love to just add a jack for an iPod/MP3 player.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mike

I don't have any specific information about how to make a connection into the audio system yourself. But the Isimple Gateway accomplishes what you want. (I have a 2005 non-navi TSX).

I don't know the current cost - I got mine at Best Buy for about $150 several years ago. One great advantage is the installation is easy - unplug a connector and plug into a socket provided by the Isimple, then plug the new Isimple into the empty connector.

This unit plugs into the audio system bus and will provide an Ipod connector and a 3.5mm jack for any other type of player. An additional plus is that the gateway provides the ability to use the steering wheel and radio controls to operate the Ipod.

Basically this gateway allows you to switch between SAT(XM), IPOD, AUX1, AUX2.

Hey Darowa.
Thanks for the info. I checked-out the interface you suggested and also found a few other Aux. Input Interfaces that are not iPod-specific which provide the input....they run about $85. Just have to decide which way we want to go. Thanks again...either option definitely simplifies the process.
