Auto Tranny Fail?
#43
From my understanding its a drain and fill....or as some members describe it, its draining and filling about 3 times to get out as much of the old oil as possible.
Don't know what they do at the dealership though. I don't think any adjustments are made for an automatic.

I have an '08 TSX and the same exact thing happened to me when I was the parkway. It freaked me out because I used to drive a civic and the transmission went on that at 56k miles.
Please let us know what the dealer says after they look it over. I'm leasing my car and I'm 99% about buying it out at the end of my lease but if these cars are having transmission problems now, I don't want to keep it. I just hit 20k on my car.

so i got the car towed to a local shop where i usually get all of my work done, my mechanic tells me the tranny went, which i knew, and that something went in the tran.
now i know this isnt the BEST move, but being only 19 and not having the greatest paying job in the world, im getting a tran from a local junkyard that my uncles knows well, the tran got 54k miles and im gettin it for alil under $600. considering im really itching to just get my car running and not wait to save up almost $2k on a rebuild, i think this is my best bet...what do you guys all think?
im getting mine swapped out at another local shop for $450....did anyone else know you have to pull the engine to pull the transmission too? i had no idea. thankfully i got a lot of good friends that know mechanics and this guy is cutting me a HUGE break.
hopefully everything works out great, everything should be done within the week...ill let everyone know the final result!!
