My 2008 Acura TSX the Audio-Navigation screen even though the brightness control is set to Auto the brightness of the screen does not automatically change. While driving at night I have to go into the setting and dim the screen and then in the day time I have to increase the brightness to see any of the display buttons.

Is the unit defective or is there a light sensor that needs cleaning or replacing ?

Isn't auto just changing the brightness of the screen (from day to night mode) when you turn on your headlights?
