audio/hvac displays not dimming
We just got our 2004 TSX back from the body shop after a rear end collision, and last night I noticed that the stereo and hvac/ac controls do not dim with the rest of the instrument cluster at night. I do not have NAV.
Questions:
1. I'm not crazy, the stereo/hvac displays should dim at night with the other displays right?
2. Anything the body shop could have done to cause this?
They claim they didn't do anything on the interior, all work was done on the body panels only (rear bumper, quarter panel, trunk lid replaced). I know the battery was disconnected as all our radio channels were reset.
I have seen in searches where the entire display goes out, but not a case where it gets stuck on the brightest setting.
Thanks,
Patrick

If you're talking about the gauge cluster, turn down the brightness one notch. If you have it maxed out, it won't dim at night. If it's the stereo and HVAC controls too, I don't know.

Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry I wasn't clear, but no the stereo/hvac don't dim at all, even when I turn the brightness all the way down using the dial in the instrument cluster.
Any other thoughts? Just want to make sure that 1) they actually do dim like I remember and 2) any ideas on what would cause this to break.
Thanks again for the help.

just so we're clear, with the lights off, turn the nob all the way up until it beeps (means you're at the end). Then, turn the lights on. run the nob all the way up, and then try to move it back down a few clicks. Then, from a dark place, cycle the lights on/off. Still not noticing any differences?

Reach,
That's exactly what I did last night. There is no difference at all in the brightness of the audio/hvac displays with the headlights on and the dimmer switch being moved back and forth. I had to turn off the radio and ac as they were too bright!
