Audio difficulty

OK, I'm trying to boost my SanDisk MP3 player output into the Aux jack using a PenguinAmp (http://www.penguinamp.com/). This is a small, low power, amp circuit commonly used to boost headphone volume and has been successful used on a BMW 3 series.

However, on the TSX I get static interference. It is the same engine running or not with the ignition on and the amp works fine and clear when tested with the same cables and some headphones.

Any thoughts? What's causing the issue? The player is on the passenger seat or center console, the amp is in the top of the armrest storage area. Thanks for ideas...

Sounds like ground noise. You might need a Ground Loop isolator to clean it up. The TSX's signal around the console seems to be pretty dirty. If the amp is not plugged in, then is there any static?

No, amp off (uses a 9v) the sound is clean...OK, I'll look into a ground loop solution...
