Anti door rattle campaign/ I have vital info

For everyone (including myself) that is having a problem with the door rattles. I tried to get the email addy so everyone could email them but, they don't have one set up. So, I got a toll free number that everyone can call 1800-382-2238. COMPLAIN LIKE HELL .

everyone that complains leave a simple post. I want to see how many people actually do this. People this is the only way that this problem is going to get solved. Acura isnt gonna do Sh*t about it. So now we have to.

I am not sure if this is the number just for American Acura. I'm sure if you need to be redirected to a different number they will provide you with it.

Thanks all

1 800-382-2238

Done.

The Acura client services person I spoke with (Trent) said that, ultimately, I'll need to keep working with the dealer (reproducing, documenting, diagnosing...), but my complaint is on record.

I called and I'm on record. Keep calling guys. These complaints get coded and routed to the appropriate product control person. That person monitors the complaints, and if enough complaints come in, that person will be forced to act on it.

I'm stickying this thread and I moved it to car talk for max exposure. Sorry about it being out of place but I want us to make a difference on this thing. They can't ignore 100 or more phone calls in a short amount of time. Have your VIN# ready.

I called and had them document my problem.

Then the dude told me that rattles are normal in all cars and maybe I should keep the volume down or switch out the speakers to something smaller.

I made it abundantly clear that... no... just no.

Well it's not like Acura's going to fly some engineers out from Japan to my house to fix it... so I didn't bother. The complaint went into the system anyways.

Has anybody thought about going to a car stereo specialty shop (NOT Good Guys) to get the door rattles fixed? Those people deal with custom padding and sound deadening all the time.

Just got my TSX five days ago, and I have noticed this rattle, too. I think. Passenger door side, when the volume is past halfway and the bass is stronger than your average song? Is this what everyone is referring to? If so, I'll call it in.

The rattle associated with audio system has less to do with volume, and more to do with frequency. I'll update you guys with info.

Agreed. I can pound certain songs with big boomy bass and have no rattles. BUt certain frequecies will rattle even at lower volumes.

A month ago, a V8 mustang driving next to me in gridlock on the highway created the buzz.

well either way if the speakers are causing some of the buzz, it's still something that they should take into consideration. It started out for me with a light buzzing with the bass up. Now its just none stop and it has to go. By the way good job guys lets keep it up.

I hear a number of rattles around, but it's hard for me to locate the origination of them to tell anyone (I can get my wife to put her ear up to them while I'm driving, but if there's a list of them out there (I'll search, I just got here), I can see which ones I have.

First off, everyone should absolutely tell the truth to Acura for sure. That said, I do sometimes hear the sound, but it's been hard for me to localize in a way that I can communicate to others. What do you know about the parameters around its occurrence? What are the certain times you hear it (some of it already mentioned)? Do you know the actual pieces vibrating? Otherwise they'll just right, sometimes door rattles for my call. See what I mean?

Faq? its not our job to find those out , all I know is that my doors rattle a 1974 vw bug. It's sick and its annoying. This is something that Acura has to reserch and come up with a solution. If they don't I will be contacting my attorney and forcing the lemon law. Thats if they don't solve my problem.

Lets keep calling!

Unfortunately the Lemon law only applies to defects that cause "substantial impairment" to the car. As bad as the rattles are, I'm afraid that no judge is going to find that burden has been met.

Additionally, you have to let the dealership try and fix it THREE times and inform Acura at least once before you can go after them under the Lemon Law. [This is for CA but I've read through the Lemon Laws of many other states and they're pretty much the same.]

Oh yes I understand that, I know the laws and how the lemon law works. I'm sure it will not come to that because, yes, your right its not affecting the performance ect ect. of the car. However I have an apt. with Acura this week w/ the sales dept. manager and the service manager. Hopefully we can come up with a solution with this. Lets keep on calling though I know theres more people out there with the same problem

OK. So you want to take on Honda Corporation and YOU are enrolling an army of fervent followers in your pursuit. I just think you are misguided AND delusional! Enjoy your car for what it is...and stop behaving like Don Guichotte!

Let’s call this thread “I am an idiot. Anybody else like me????”.

I think this complaining to Honda is completely appropriate at this point. If it were only one person doing this than it would be understandable that his efforts would be futile. But this is hardly the case. The majority of TSX owners have this problem and from first-hand experience, it is quite frustating. It makes the car feel cheap and poorly built. I payed good money for my TSX, thus, I expect the best out of my money. All we have to do is complain to the right person.

Don't worry about everybody else. Make your complaint known to your service department and see what they can do but stop recruiting people in a futile attempt to wrestle with a big corporation. It's naive on your part. The TSX is a great car and trust me I have my share of rattles but they don’t rattle me!!! Crybabies!!!
