Another Navi Question

I live in New Orleans, where there has been a huge turnover of business since Katrina. I have found the Nav disc to be severely lacking in my area with regards to Places. I can understand not having newer restaurants and things, but many locations around long before the storm are excluded as well.

Just yesterday, I entered "Best Buy" on my way to there. I always like to test the Nav! Anyway, it pulled up Best Buy locations from 600 miles away. This is kind of dumb. This seems to happen a lot when I search for a place by name.

Is there some way to EXCLUDE finding places outside my region? I'm really tired of finding stores in New England!!!

yes, isn't there an option to choose places within your city vicinity? I don't really have this problem so I always sort by closest.

In 2004, along with the owner's manual was a seperate Navigation supplement.

Inside of that supplement it describes how to narrow down searches. You should really be using something to the effect of "nearest vicinity" or "closest to area" - I forget the exact text. It will be an option after you have selected the category and before you enter the name.

Notice, also, that unless you spell the name exactly correct as the database has it entered, you will not find a match. Example: Best Buy and BestBuy would return two different results. I think this is a defect of the phone listings they imported for their database, but it can be extremely annoying.
