anyone here experience this where if you turn the fan on to between 2-4 settings aftar awhiel you hear this whining noise coming from the background inside the fan.

this is really the only problem I have with my 1st gen tsx 4 years now. though im not mad but its getting to be annoying.

would this be under warranty to replace or looked into if I still have extended mine till 2011.

I don't notice any whining from the fans on my '04.

Nor I. Have you ever changed your cabin air filter? That thing gets surprisingly filthy in a short amount of time. The blower is right below it so if you want to take a peak, it's not terribly difficult.

I've got a whine on mine like you describe - between 2-4 - but mild. It's like the fan needs lube to shut it up. I can live with it since I normally drive with music on.

Mine does this as well. It's not broken, it's just bad design of the vents. I had my car at the dealership twice for this and they even replaced both my blower motors..the sound remains. It's the air making its way through the vents and out into the car. Not the fans themselves. It's just shitty design you have to live with...just like the whining coming into the cabin through the shifter area on most automatics. Note. A lot of people either don't hear the whining air coming from the vents noise because your head has to be a certain level to make it most audible. Also, people don't have the same sensitivity in hearing, age etc. Unfortunately, you won't be able to fix this stuff. I've had two other tsx loaners (05 and 07). Both made the exact same sounds with the vents.
