alignment problem -- suggestion
Hi,
I took my car to the dealer where I bougth the car (50 miles away) regd. the problem with my steering being off center to the right. They did alignment for free, but its worse now.. the steering is off to the left (a lot more than what it was to the right before). Should I take it to the same dealer again asking him to fix that? Its 50 miles away .. there is a acura dealer near by.. can I go this dealer instead regd. the problem. Will they charge me to fix this?
Thanks.

If you read your warranty manual it states you are eligible for alignments for up to a year or 12000 miles (or something like that.) Different dealers interpret this differently- I've heard some say you're only entitled to it once, and of course they say it's subject to whether or not they can determine if you drove the car into a curb or something (basically you were at fault for your car's bad alignment.)
With that said, I was in the same boat as you. My alignment was off when I bought the car. I took it to a dealer down the street (not where I bought the car) and had them do an alignment. Well, I got it back worse than it was before. A few months later I took it into the dealership I bought the car at. I told them what I had already gone through, and they were the ones that said that warranty is only good for one alignment, but of course they'd do one for me for free "this one time only because we want your future business." In the end my alignment is better (still not perfect though.)
One thing is to make sure wherever you take it for an alignment that they have the actual specs for the TSX in the alignment computer. The first place I took the car didn't- maybe that's why it came back worse. The second dealer supposedly input all the specs into the computer by hand (they made this out to be a big deal- doesn't sound too difficult), so they had a much better chance of getting it right. Sounds odd that a car out for more than a year wouldn't be in most dealers alignment computers, but I bet if you call around and ask about this specifically, most will still say they're waiting for the alignment people to send them updated software or something... Anyway, good luck.
