Airbag light sometimes on, sometimes off

I just recently purchased my '04 TSX and I know it was in a minor fender bender that caused the drivers side airbag to be deployed. Does my sensor need to be replaced or is there a way to reset the indicator light?

sometimes if the car had a major accident it will tweak the chasis just a little to cause the passenger weight/occupant sensor to give false readings. If you have a passenger in the seat and it says off then I would start worrying.

That's good to know, however, it's the drivers side airbag light that should come on briefly when the car is started then go off. But mine sometimes stays on or goes off then comes on at random times.

If youre fat or have someone fat sitting in the passenger seat and they lean a certain way the airbag light will go on/off.

Nope, no fatty's here but as I posted in my previous reply, it is the driver side airbag light on the instrument panel. The '04 TSX DOES NOT have a passenger airbag on/off indicator light. It has nothing to do with the passenger seat, sensor, or fat ass.

If I take it to the dealership will it cost anything to have them scan for codes?

I too have this same problem. I would like to bring my car into the dealer to have them check it out too, but I wouldn't want to pay for this. I have an '06 MT and it comes on randomly sometimes in the middle of driving, but mainly when I first start the car. My information displays a "check airbag system" and picture.

I read somewhere in the manual where it says the hook of the floor mat in the rear passenger side has to do something with the airbag system. I'm not too sure. This only refers to the '06 and up models?

I had an intermittent airbag light problem with my wife's car too. It was the seat-belt buckle. I just blew compressed air in it to clean it out but I think Acura will replace them for free. Call and check.

I also just bought an 04 tsx and it was doing the same thing. I called the dealership and they said it was most likely the driver's side seat belt buckle. In my case it was the buckle, which has a lifetime warranty. If it had not been the buckle they would have charged me $52 dollars to run the diagnostic but since it was the buckle I was not charged for the test and they replaced it for free.
