After headers installed
After headers installed
I have a Short ram intake on my car and i just installed headers yesterday, however after it was installed, a loud air "swishing" sound is heard on the intake side of the engine when i accelerate past 3000 rpm, and that only. It doesn't make any sound on idle or engine breaking, I'm just wondering if it's normal due to the increase of air flow thru the engine.(I never had the sound before tho)
i have a CAI and thats how mine sounds and thats what its supposed to sound like... It should sound like its taking a big gulp of air. I don't know what the short ram intake sounds like but the noise your talking about sounds pretty normal. I'm sure other people can help you out considering i'm not an expert on this one
Okay let me get this straight. When you had the SRI on you don't hear this "swoosh" sound at all? Or you installed both header and SRI at the same time and asking if the "swoosh" sound is normal?
If you just installed the SRI then the sound is normal that's how SRI should sounds like because you have removed all of the resonator and baffling that came with the stock setup so switching to SRI gives this "swoosh" sound.
