6MT tranny problems

My 05 TSX (6MT) has been without much serious problems. Recently I have noticed that tranny is not that smooth. Attempting for the 5th sometime ends up in the 3rd, and from 5th to 6th gear, it kind of gets stuck... not always though...it is inconsistent.

I have always driven manual transmissions, including another honda and a toyota, and never felt this frustated. Initially I thought may be the car is not warmed up, but even on a 45 -50 degrees outside temp and more than 20 minutes of running I notice this problem.

I'm not sure what this means, but if you're going into the wrong gear you're probably shifting incorrectly. The 6 speed forces you to have a slightly different style than the 5 speeds. If you push the shifter in the right direction you should never misshift

It is conceivable that your cables are a bit loose, allowing mis-shifts. Probably shouldnt happen this early, but ya never know.

I have an '05 6MT and I think it is sometimes difficult to get into 6th gear too. But, I think as I become more accustomed to it the shifting pattern will feel more natural.

This is a problem that is caused between the steering wheel and driver's seat.

You'll get used to shifting in a few days.

Indeed, it's a code 18 (Problem located 18" behind the wheel)

Houston, we have a problem...

Don't be sad, it's just a little fun at your expense, but it's all good though.

Seriously, it's the first time I hear about your issues.

Pantji,
It's not the driver, I also have noticed this problem between 5th and 6th. Your right it's only the odd time. I also noticed a really notchy shift between 2nd and 3rd when it's really cold out. Personnally I don't think the shifter is nearly as smooth as the reviews I've read.

take ur car to the dealer ASAP-mine started that-it isn't that noticeable but after driving the car so much, you notice when its slightly off. I told my dad about it and he went and drove it and is like ur retarded nothing is wrong. Low and behold about 2 weeks later my tranny/ clutch went and the car was about 5 months old. granted acura did reassure me that it was a defective tranmission/clutch and everything was replaced and they didn't know about any other TSXs have problems but i didn't have a car for about 2 months beacuse of problems getting parts in -just get it checked
