2006 TSX 5AT, Hard shift from 1st to 2nd

I did some searching on the forums, but wasn't able to find a definitive answer.

In full automatic using medium to heavy acceleration, 1st -> 2nd gear there is a hard shift. Same issue with an automatic downshift, usually 4th -> 2nd, again hard shift. By hard shift I mean the previous gear disengages and allows the engine to rev before the next gear engages. Once the gear is engaged, I'm not having any slippage.

Now, using "manual mode" I can shift under full acceleration from 1st -> 2nd no problem.

I have replaced both oil pressure switches, but it didn't solve the issue. I have checked the screens on both solenoid packs and did not see any clogging whatsoever. Does anyone know what solenoids are responsible for the 2nd gear? Thanks in advance!

Not yet, that's my next step. Have a case of it being sent tomorrow to do a 3x3 change. I have a feeling it's not the fluid, but will do it to be sure.

Problem solved

@TexasHonda, thanks for the diagnostic info!

I also had an issue where a shift from 3-4 would flare every time regardless if it was in fully automatic, or manual mode. I dug up diagnostic info for that as well and based on those two issues narrowed it down to one of the linear solenoids(Since I had already replaced the 2nd and 3rd clutch pressure switches). They are a bit $$ (For both components with gaskets about $450 and change online) but both looked pretty corroded so I didn't bother to test and just replaced all 3 of them (Two come together as one component) Worked like a charm, running like new again! Also, if anyone else has this issue, prob one of the easiest repairs I've done, remove the battery and a couple of brackets to make life easier and they're easily accessible.

Is the problem always present regardless of engine temperature? Or does it go away or get less evident when the engine warms up?
