2005 TSX Power Steering Pump Issue

I'm working on a 2005 TSX with 114k miles. It had the PS pump tube recall work done on it but the power steering pump itself was leaking and could not pass inspection. I replaced the power steering pump last night with one from autozone. I did not do a full flush of the system but topped off the resevoir. I then turned the steering wheel all the way one way and all the way to the other as I read this is supposed to purge the system of air. Well after doing it countless times, its still acting like there is no power steering. Sometimes, it will work like its supposed to as I turn the wheel side to side. But after about 6-8 rotations it becomes almost impossible to turn. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what I should do to fix this? I figure there is air in the line somewhere but I figured it would be purged by turning the wheel as I read previously.

I should also mention that the fluid looks foamy, seeming as though there is still air in the system.

If fluid is foaming you are pulling air into PS fluid on the suction side, most likely the end fitting on the pump or the hose is not tight on the end fitting alllowing air to enter.

good luck
