Exclamation 1st/2nd gear throttle lag?

Hey guys, so i have this fairly new 08 TSX 6speed manual and ive noticed many times (after the car has heated up) that when i shift from 1st to second and i floor it, it lags a lot when speeding up.

Ive noticed the most power or pull occurs during mid 3rd gear and 4th gear, but 1st and 2nd gears are just very sluggish at accelerating

When my car is cold and just started it seems to accelerate fine without and hesitation.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this? is it just normal for these cars to have a little acceleration lag?

Is there anything i can do to improve the response? (im thinking of purchasing an icebox to replace the stock intake)
Thanks

How much RPM are you given it at 1st? then at 2nd? Have you tried launching with the VSA off?

Throttle lag on these cars is in the order of milliseconds because of the drive-by-wire throttle crap. That's not your complaint, I guess. Do you see the VSA light up because of wheelspin?

Lag with drive-by-wire is far more than a few miliseconds. Don't let the stealership fool you. The 1-2 shift is particularly hard for the second gen because of the short first gear and tall second gear ratios. There's just a big jump between the two and you're probably not feathering on that shift and aren't releasing the clutch at the right RPM to match second gear. The two combined do generate a "pause" when shifting into second gear. Try that 1-2 shift a little slower to get a better response.

The gas pedal is not an on/off switch learn to modulate your pressure on the pedal for a smoother/faster launch...Good Luck

I noticed its hard to take off smoothly right after shifting to 2nd gear if thats what you're talking about. I think its just because of the high gear ratios for the 1st and 2nd gears. 3rd to 6th are very easy to take off smoothly.
