15K check up & Wheel Weights
How much have most of you paid for your 15K check up? My dealer told me it would cost like $435+. They say they'll do other stuff like check the engine and blah blah blah. It still seems like a lot for a 15K maintenance. Also, how often do the wheel weights fall off? I had brought my car in for the 10K were they rotated the tires and 2 days later, my car was not driving right. What the ! Any thought? Thanks!

The service advisor said that somehow I caused the wheel weight to come off and therefore screw up the balancing. I want to know how the f*&k that happens. They had rotated the tires like 2 days before...I'm almost certain they were the ones that caused it to happen...what the hell man! My TSX has been cursed!

First of all $400+ is upsurd for a 15k service on a TSX, there really isn't much to be done. As for the wheel weights falling off, it happens- though my guess is that the imbalance was there prior to the rotation but it was the rear tires, after the rotation the out of balance tires are now on the front and imbalance is noticeable. I don't think anyone did anything wrong this happens pretty frequently and should cost around $25 to fix.

Thanks for the info! Really appreciated! I looked in the warranty thing and there was too much BS in it...in plain English, what the hell is covered under the warranty? My friend has a 325ci and everything before 50K was covered. He never had to pay a penny for anything...including oil changes...

Often times, if the dealer uses an impact wrench to tighten the lugs on the wheels, that may be the culprit of the vibation.
When you tighten luge you are supposed to tighten in the pattern of a star little by little until they all tighten pretty much at the same time.
With an impact wrench you can't realy do that. Once you tighten a lug with an impact wrench, it'll turn until the lug stops. Impact wrenches can also tighten up to 400lbs of torque which is way too much.
This causes the wheel to not tighten flush against where it's supposed to be.
My suggestion is to go home and retorque all of your lugs properly with a torque wrench,. Alloy wheels sohuld be no tighter than 80-85 lbs of torque.
Dealers like to use impacts because they are quicker.
