1 touch window issue?

For almost a week, my 1 touch window wouldn't work (up and down). Now all of a sudden it's working again today. Anyone know what could've been the problem?

these might help:

weak battery on the transmitter - try at a longer distance?
or button is messed up?
have you tried using the other key fob?

That happened to me once. I was in a drive-thru on a cold day, after it had snowed the day before. Well, the window was frozen and would only move a little bit up and down. So when the window finally broke free, the auto up/down wouldn't work. I kept trying then gave up thinking i'd have to bring it in for service. 10 minutes later, it's working again. That was about a week ago, and it still works fine.

That's exactly what happened with mine. It was really cold and the window was frozen and wouldn't go down. When it finally went down, that's when I noticed the 1 touch feature didn't work anymore until today. Don't tell me this is gonna happen everytime it gets really cold.

Auto up/down window must be initialized if power is disconnected, switch or regulator is unplugged etc. Most likely window being stuck causes the window to lose initialization.

With window fully rolled up, hold switch to roll window all the way down, then hold switch to roll window all the way up and hold for 2 sec. This reinits. the window.

My driver side window when, all the way down, if i push the window button up to make it auto go up, it starts to go up, then automatically goes back down. I have to hold the window button up , similar issues any 1?

Try lubing the window runchannel (the rubber channel at front and back that the edges of the window run in) with a little silicone spray. Usually does the trick. If you have tint, it can make this more likely because often tint adds some extra drag to the window operation.

This exact situation happened to me about 2 weeks ago. Once the driver side window broke free from being frozen the window wouldn't auto up/down so I had to operate it manually. How barbaric. It started working 10 or 15 mins later.

This problem occurred about 10 seconds after my first encounter with the windshield rattle. I don't remember the outside temperature, but it must have been the perfect temperature for the windshield to make all kinds of noise as I pulled out of my parking space. I was able to push on the top of the windshield next to the mirror to reproduce the noise. Once the car warmed up the noise was gone and hasn't been back since. I live in PA and it was cold that night, but it has been colder since with no rattles so there is probably some temperature range that triggers the windshield problem.

As I was driving down the road pushing the windshield to reproduce the noise I thought I'd roll down the drivers window a little. That's when I discovered it was frozen shut, then it broke free and I realized auto up/down was failing.

It was quite irritating having 2 problems at once.

Exclamation

It has nothing to do w/ the cold weather... but once there is snow... the problem will come up. It happens to me 2 to 3 times already. I need to park my car outdoor during the daytime and once the sun melted the snow on the window, there is a high possibility the melted snow to be frozen on the edge of the driver side window and the door pannel either once the temperature drops or after the sunset. The one-touch fuction will be fallen once you foced the window open.

As the other said... hold on the to the button after opening/closing the window for a several times and the on-touch thingy will be back on function again. I don't think there is a way to fix it..... unless if we ask the dealership to adjust the door pannel a bit more loose.... or may be... bring a bottle of hot water with you to pick up your ride in a snowy day.... j/k

1 touch window - not working at all

Well, I was at a drive thru today and the windows were frozen and now the 1-touch feature isn't working.

After searching, I found this thread and read it - went out and tried what it said... and it still doesn't work.

Any suggestions, besides going to the dealership....

Thanks!

i'm a victim of this too. i noticed that it happens when my windows are frozen shut or stuck for a little bit in the begining of the transition going down from ice.

the auto up and down are both not working until later on, until i suppose it gets warmed up.

This is coming from left field but did you ever consider that this "problem" is actually a safety feature? Possibly coming into play in order to save the window motor or possibly just so that you don't inadvertently end up with a lap full of snow when you only wanted to crack the window a little bit. For those of you familiar with computer software, call it a Japanese cookie. It does, after all get real cold and snowy in the Motherland.

it's kind of funny because my car just started doing this and I thought I was alone but all the sudden, everyone is having this issue. It's like the flu. It's annoying but as long as I can roll it back on in a few tries, I'll live with it.
