'07 AC Relay
'07 AC Relay
Hi everyone,
Thought I'd add another AC thread because there weren't enough already...
Like most of you, my AC went out ('07, 65K miles). It blows warm air all the time, the compressor isn't engaging. Want to try to replace the relay before bringing it in to the dealer. For this particular part, I'm wondering where I can get it? Want to make sure I am getting the correct one. Any suggestions? And, also bear with me, but I want to make sure it's the correct relay I am replacing. I've been scouring online for an '07 pic pointing out the AC relay, but haven't found a good one. I have an idea where it's at but any confirmation would help.
Disclaimer: I am a novice when it comes to cars, so please be patient with me. I just don't want to get screwed over any more than I have to with this.

Relay is in under-hood fuse box. Look at fuse box cover for key to which is AC compressor relay. There are likely (appear same in wiring diagram) 4 other identical relays. Try swapping the rear window defogger relay into compressor relay socket and see if problem is resolved, or not.
If problem remains unchanged, you may have a leak (low refrigerant charge), faulty AC pressure switch, wiring damage, faulty ac clutch coil, or excessive clutch gap, or faulty ac evap temp sensor. Good ac system diagnostics req'd to ID fault and repair w/o replacing most everything in AC system (too frequently the solution proposed by shops!).
good luck

Have you tried engaging the AC using BOTH the automatic setting and the manual setting?
My car has a navigation screen. I can engage the AC either with the automatic button or a manual setting accessible thru the navigation screen.
I had a situation recently where the AC compressor would not engage while in the automatic setting. I tried numerous times but it would not work. I thought my compressor was gone. Then I tried the manual mode thru the navigation screen. It worked and everything was back to normal.
