'05 TSX vibrating steering wheel - will not be fixed!!!!
After all the service, vibrating steering wheel is still here, happy to greet me in every highway. Now im at the point I really hate my TSX.. read on~
I had problem with my steering wheel vibrating from 60-70 mph after initial break-in. Took it to the dealership (metro acura), they corrected the tire pressure and re-aligned the car. Steering wheel still vibrates regardless of road condition.
Took it back and they re-balanced the wheels. Steering wheel still vibrates, nothing different.
Took to West Chester Acura, they decide to re-do re-alignment, balance all four wheels and replace rotors and brake pads (steering wheel started to shake every time I applied brakes) and only thing I have to pay for is balancing of the wheel for $65 blings.
They had the car for 1 2/4 of the day while they loaned me a TL (nice car).
Got the car back, steering wheel still shakes, nothing solved. I asked someone to take a test drive with me; they refuse by stating something about how they cannot be in the car while driving/speeding over the state speed limit.
I call Acura customer service instead of writing them a letter. Surprisingly, I get a call from one of the reps in west coast within two days. The guy has some attitude problem and does not offer much help, but decide to set me up an appointment with their master tech. (if there is such a thing).
Next day I get a call from service manager instead of master tech. (real good guy) and wants to go on a test drive with me on that day. Hoping the steering wheel will mis-behave I arrive at the service area, but instead of service manager, I get one of their lead techs. anyway, we drive, I do over 65mph and YES, steering wheel shakes/shimmies/nibbles/younameit!! I point it out to him, he sees it clearly and we are on a same page. I get a loaner and go home. Next morning I get a call from their service manager again, telling me he will take it to a place that does high-speed road balancing (free of charge). Next day, I get a call from them telling me that there were some hard spots on the left side rear tire and from the guys who did the balancing said, "it will drive as well as it can drive." With that in my mind (hoping for the best) I go pick up my car next day.
They tell me to drive it and if everything is in my satisfaction, drive home, if not bring the car back. I drive and vibrating steering wheel says, "WASSSSAPP!"
I was really worn out by now and really just wanted to junk this SOB, but i will myself and take it back to the dealership. This time, their service manager comes out, we take a test drive, and I introduce him to the vibrating steering wheel. He then tries to tell me that most of the cars (or some) nibble a bit (OOOOOK!!!) and are not perfect and I'm expecting perfection. I tell them that the TSX loaner had absolutely NO VIBRATION AT ALL ROADS ALL SPEED (after TL, they gave me '06 TSX - REALLY nice). We take two TSX and drive around the same road for comparison sake - AND YES, only mine vibrated. He noticed this, tells me he’s just going to take all the wheels out, and placed them with the new ones. I leave my TSX with them again, take the same '06 TSX loaner and go home.
4 days passses and I finally get a call from them (they apparently had trouble finding tires from '05 TSX) telling me to come and test-drive it. I do it on that day and notice the vibration is still there, but not as bad as before - but since the traffic was getting worse, I couldn't really drive for long distance, not able to maintaining the speed around 65-70mph. Nevertheless, the short drive showed me that it made some improvement so I let them know. Next day I show up and they replaced two front tires, same wheels, and ask me to test drive with the service manager. We go on the road and heavy traffic again, but I am able to do around 60-68mph for shot distance and notice none of the vibration coming from steering wheel. I thank the man, shake his hand, and tell him I will buy him and his staff couple of large pies from PAPA johns.
After all the happy talk, I drive home... and one particular road, when I speeded around 75mph, vibration came back like those horror movie character that never dies..
4 days later, I get a call from the same acura service rep guy with an attitude and we argue over the phone for good 30 minutes. He keeps telling to take it back to the dealership, if not there's nothing he can do to help, if I don't take it back. At this point, I'm really worn out and tired. I really can't think of what else they can do. I call their service manager anyway and tell him that vibration is still there, but little less then before. He is not happy to hear about this and tells me he can't think of anything more he can do for me. I thank him for his service and bid him farewell. Felt little bad because he REALLY went out of his way to help me out.
2 days later I get a call from same acura service rep with an attitude, I don't even bother picking up the phone and let him leave a messg. Since then (week later) I have not heard anything from anyone..
Sorry to keep this long, but I needed to vent and if anyone had similar experiences like I have but was able to take care of this issue, PLEASE REPLY!!!

I also agree. That WILL fix the problem and to their credit,Acura did a lot to help your situation. I would have tried all the same things they did. Hope you get this taken care of soon. I feel your pain.

I don't have vibration on high speed tho....donno what's teh problem...
Apology if you said it on your post. Are your wheels stock or aftermarket? Did they take the tires off the rims and remount them? Perhaps your tires are somehow out of round (not perfectly round). Good luck.
