nope still can't see it. BTW, you need soap..you might think you don't but you're doing more harm than good washing ur car w/o auto soap. Soap prevents the debris on ur car from scratching up ur clear coat and inducing swirls. Soap does not take away your clear coat, however it does diminish ur wax a bit everytime you wash it, which is why you need to wax and layer synthetic sealents every now and then. I bet you're just covering up your swirls right now, under artificial or heavy sunlight, i bet you can see swirls all over with your wash method.

Soap does not ruin your clearcoat!

I mean maybe if you used dish soap all the time or something, but using a high quality car washing soap such as Pinnacle or other top products, along with clay's, wax's etc, will keep your cars finish looking great for a long long time

I don't think its a question of "soap ruining the clear-coat" . It is simply a pointless step in cleaning your car. Water and a thick nap towel or nap covered sponge do the job just fine.

it all depens on what kind of soap you are using.....if you purchase a good car wash soap instead of using lets say dishwashing liquid then your clearcoat will be fine. by using only water and a rag you are just swirling whatever dirt that is on your car right into your paint.
