Cool Tint pictures??

Does anyone have some good pictures of their cars with tinted windows?? In my state, only 35% tint is legal for passenger cars. Do any of you have 35%? I'd like to see how it looks before I do mine . Any other tint pictures would be great too -- just be sure to say what % they are. Also, what kind of tint do you all recommend? Is the metalized better?

Thanks,
Slats

15% (Measured 11.2%) LT

Make sure you understand the % some people get confused.

LT stands for Light Transmittance So only 11.2% of the light is allowed in on my car. Some people get that confused with TINT. Example 15% Tint means 85% of the light is allowed in

The car place i went to applied 15% LT On my car. I measured them to be 11.2% LT

Thanks for the pictures. Wow, is it just me or do silver cars look the greatest with tint?! Nice.
Icey, very nice photography. Unfortunatly I won't be able to have that dark of tint -- but it looks really sweet.
ssm, are you sure that your rear side windows are 35%? They look at lot darker than the 35 tint I was checking out at Wal-mart. Looks really nice, but it looks more like 20. Do you have any more pics??

Yea, its 35% in the rear. Va law is 50/35 so thats what I had put on. In some pictures it looks a lot darker than it really is.

The tinters also had to do a cutout for my third brake light. I wouldn't pass inspection if it was tinted.

Tint newbie here. The tint pictures look great. How is the tint applied? Is there any chance/danger of this stuff peeling off after a few years? Is it applied to the inside or outside? Does it scratch easily? I'm only familiar with the stuff you wet apply to house windows. Any edumacation you all can provide is greatly appreciated.

The film is heated up and then placed on the inside of the windows. There is a chance for the tint to peel/bubble/fade. Which is why you need to see what kind of tint you are buying. There are a few different types of tint.

1] Tints that use Dye. These tints WILL fade after a few years. They have more of a chance that they will bubble or peel.

2] High Performance tints, do not use dyes and will not peel or fade. I received a lifetime warranty on my tints for any defections. It cost around $50 more but its worth it.

Here are pics of my car before and after tint. The tint is 35% on the sides, 20% on the back, which you can't really see here. With the ebony interior, it looks a bit darker when you see it up close. The tint is llumar brand high-perf metallized I believe.

ok, goodfella, I forgot. White does look great with tint, but silver does too. Yours lookes like VIP limo or somthing. Very nice. Thanks for the other pictures -- I guess 35% should be fine -- it looks darker than I thought.

Have any of you ever installed your own tint on any vehicle? I did on our Buick, but it was illegal (20% front, 5% rear) and the guy at the inspection place tore it out before he'd pass it. I'm thinking of just buying some from Wal-mart and doing it myself on my Accord. Any tips or suggestions you guys could offer?

I had tint on my white Integra and it did look very nice. I also agree that tints look awesome on silver cars. It really adds contrast to the car. Tint on black cars to me are a bit overkill, but some like that stealth look I guess.

So here's my question, my car is registered in AL, but I live in PA now for school and will probably live here for the next 5 years. I still have residency in AL (my parents) and I'll keep it registered in AL so I don't have to get the yearly emissions testing here in PA. So do I tint according to the AL laws or PA laws? I will be getting the tint here in PA obviously.

Please spend the extra coin on getting the tint installed by a professional installer. You've spent big bucks on the car as is, why skimp on a $300 tint job? I can spot a DIY tint job from a 100yds.

My windows don't have a plastic film on them. A specialty store removed my windows and dipped them into a metalic liquid solution. This way the whole window is tinted. Most plastic film jobs leave 1/8 inch from the edge on windows that roll up and down.

Mine are 20% on the rear. no tint up front

Dan,
Actually I have not bought a TSX yet. The tint is for my old Accord. I'm saving up for a new car when I graduate next year -- maybe a TSX or 5-spd Accord. Not sure yet. Anyway, that's why I'm skimping on the coin. If (when) I get a TSX I will have a pro do the windows.

Yeah, unlike a lot of people here (no offense) I pay for my own toys rather then getting them from mommy and daddy. So it will be a while before I get a TSX.

I worked my ass off to save enough to buy myself a nice car. Nobody, including my wife, helped me do it!

are there a lot of places out there that will do window tinting by removing your windows and dipping in the chemical solution cause that sounds like a mucht better way to have it done

ssm_tsx and ortiz,

I've got a SSM like yours and am getting 30% put on next week (fronts and backs). I have a choice between black and I think it was smoke. What's on yours? Both of you guys have excellent looking TSX's.

Thanks.

Thanks ortiz,

You have a nice looking TSX, the tint looks great against the SSM. That's what I'll get only about 30%.

VA tint

I just bought a NBP TSX a couple weeks ago (still waiting for it to show up at Pohanka). Even though VA law says 35% is limit for tint, I did 20% all the way around on my last car and have never had a problem. Cops arent really looking for it and it won't prevent you from getting a state inspection sticker. I guess it's a risk, but the extra tint makes a big difference in appearance.

its 50% for the front side and 35% for back side and rear.

I'm thinking about going 35% for all, dark but conservative enough not to catch too much attention. 20% is really flaunting it!

Question SILVER TSX w/ TINTS

Looking for opinions here:
I live in NY and have my TSX 3 months. I really need to put tints on the windows ... I think it looks so hot. But i'm so undecided as to which % to go with. I don't want to make the wrong choice.

If any of you have a silver TSX w/ tints, could you send me the pics? I'm looking to compare the 20% with the 35%.....

I also thought about going with 35% in the front two window and 20% in the rear and rear windshield, but i'm not sure how that would look.

All info is much appreciated. Thanks!
Vinny

In Cali you can tint rear windows as dark as you like.
Here are the written vehicle code for tinting
vc26708 vc26708.2 vc26708.5

Anyone with NAV and Metallic tint...I heard a rumor that the metal in the tint can interfere with with the GPS signal. Is this just a rumor?
