SSM TSX with various wheels.
Quickie photoshop. People have asked, and I wanted to know. Whipped up a few simple Photoshops of some particular wheels.

yo thats hot lung fu.you got some good photoshop skills.
I actually picked up my old rims from the dealer the other day they were 10 spoke exel rims 18inch. I was going to sell them but they actually kinda look hot next to em. So next week when i get paid im gonna see how they look on the car and take it to the tire shop to get them put on.

I'll continue the Photoshopping here tongiht. I'll try to fulfill requests as well. I need a good pic of a CG TSX though, preferrably similar to the SSM I have.
I have a decent pic. I'm also going to redo some of these SSM's at a higher resolution so the wheels are less blurred.
Anyway, it's pretty easy to do it this way, so...

The only thing that I've foun comparable are the SSR Comps in silver. All the others just don't really fit.
Still, my goal is to upgrade the tires. But, if I'm going to wider and lighter rims, I can't upgrade the tires on the stocks.

I think what people have to understand about the tsx design is that everything has a certain weight to it, a certain balance to compliment the lines of the design.
The stock seven spokes work because they are thick, uniform, and plain. All the rims above, IMHO are too thin for the TSX's modern flat-panel styling.

Overall the rims would average $1600, while I could sell the old ones for about $600, netting $1000.
My whole computer was about that much and I spend some serious time researching parts, etc. I want to do the same for the rims. I've heard on other message boards (M3 ones) that the SSR's are soft and bend easily. Not good for a street wheel...but that's just hearsay. They recommended some others, but I checked the price...$3700 for a set of 4...in a word, "no".
I also want to maintain the sport/luxo style of the TSX. Looking at those SSR comps from the M3 in gunmetal...the car looks good, but WAY over-sporty. In silver, they look better.
As it was mentioned above, the TSX needs less "spokey" wheels. Wide, flat spokes are the way to go. The TL ones would probably works too. I think this is why the SSRs seem to look better...6-spokes, about 1.5" wide, very close to the 2" wide 7-spokes of the stock.
Anyway, I refuse to just go out and buy some and slap them on.

Yup. My whole idea was to put as wide of rubber as I can on. To do this I would like to get 8" wide rims....

Basically I'm going to go out and use some little paper tabs cut and bent to the right length and tape them to my wheel to look at protrusion.
BTW, which wheels are you looking at?

1) (New Tire Width) - (Stock Tire Width)
2) Divide by 2
3) Add (Stock Wheel Offset) - (New Wheel Offset)
So your 40mm offset wheels would stick out 25 mm from where the stock wheels are now...a full inch.

They look really good on the car, too (now I'm wondering how they got them on). I have two pics, but nowhere to host...

By the way on the rims.

It's not my car, but the car in the pictures is definitely lowered. Probably Eibach Sportline. I don't know of any other kit that drops that much. Look at the front wheel in the top pic.
