The last 3 I am starting to play with using strobe lights not mounted on the camera however I need to get a second one so I can light up the whole car.

I think you did well to find a location that matched but still gave enough contrast with the car so that it stands out. I've been trying to find a pale yellow wall or something similar because CGP seems to blend in with backgrounds all to easily

Good location for a shoot. Now all you need is an off-camera flash so you can light up those shadows a little.

I have a nikon sb800 and I think I am going to get 2 nikon sb600 still to complete my lighting setup.
You need an RF flash transmitter if you're going to fire multiple off-camera flashes. There are a number of cheap RF transmitters on ebay, but I don't know how they work with the Nikon system.
If you just want to get a single flash off the camera, you can use a cable adapter which basically just extends the hotshoe. I modified one for my canon so it can use any length of cable.
Edit: this unit looks like it would work, but I don't know if it can trigger multiple flashes: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Wireless-Slave-Fl...QQcmdZViewItem

So are you saying that I can get any flash and use them with the device you posted so I could possibly use cheaper flashes cause the best price I could find the nikon 2b600 is 200 shipped. so that puts me at 400 to finish my lighting setup plus buying to cheap tripods to use to hold the lights.
The real way is to use pocket wizards, but they are big bucks and not made for the average joe.

just find yourself a battery powered lamp, you can always expirment with different bulbs for different effects too, and probably a cheap option. Lighting should be more mild than a strobe flash too, probably just have to increase the exposure time
