Some pictures from last night

Well here are some more pictures since I am addicted to taking pictures and finding new locations to do so. I took picture for like an hour and then went back and did a couple at night and got kicked out by the police for 'being on state property' which was total BS.

the adhesive came off of them and I am not sure I am going to put them off. I love the jdm headlights and dont really want to take away from them however I have condensation in one of them which pisses me off.

The last 3 I am starting to play with using strobe lights not mounted on the camera however I need to get a second one so I can light up the whole car.

I am hoping it will go away on its own as we have had about 90% humidity for the last like 4 days. I hope once it goes away so will the condensation. if it doesnt I will probably sell it and let someone else take it apart and buy a new one so it doesnt have an ugly reseal look since I show.

yea good idea.

I think you did well to find a location that matched but still gave enough contrast with the car so that it stands out. I've been trying to find a pale yellow wall or something similar because CGP seems to blend in with backgrounds all to easily

yeah old red brick buildings and yellowish walls are my favorite backgrounds for CG however I have yet to find a good really really old brick building. one that is like falling apart with old warehouse style windows.

the location is in harrisburg, pa under a railroad bridge.

I have no idea ho much the car is lowered compared to stock however I would go lower if I could. I need to lower the back a little more still.

i noticed that, you have a good bit of room in the rear. on my rears the full length shock adjustment is at the very bottom of the threads, no room left to lower w/o adjusting the spring rate

the rear was raised cause when i go to shows and put the tool box, cleaning supplies, jack, spare tire, and camera bag in the back it rubs if it is as low as the front.

Looks good Colts.

Good location for a shoot. Now all you need is an off-camera flash so you can light up those shadows a little.

I need like 2 more so I can have one more to light up the back end of the car and one for the shadows. However I am not sure how I will fire them all without all them being in the picture since they need to see the on camera flash. I have a nikon sb800 and I think I am going to get 2 nikon sb600 still to complete my lighting setup.

That's where it gets tricky and expensive.

You need an RF flash transmitter if you're going to fire multiple off-camera flashes. There are a number of cheap RF transmitters on ebay, but I don't know how they work with the Nikon system.

If you just want to get a single flash off the camera, you can use a cable adapter which basically just extends the hotshoe. I modified one for my canon so it can use any length of cable.

Edit: this unit looks like it would work, but I don't know if it can trigger multiple flashes: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Wireless-Slave-Fl...QQcmdZViewItem

The Nikon D200 actually controls the off camera flash that I have for now and it says that it can control up to atleast 3 flashes. I mean I have not tried. So are you saying that I can get any flash and use them with the device you posted so I could possibly use cheaper flashes cause the best price I could find the nikon 2b600 is 200 shipped. so that puts me at 400 to finish my lighting setup plus buying to cheap tripods to use to hold the lights.

I don't think you can mix and match flashes with that unit. It's just something that allows you to place the flash anywhere, including out of the line-of-site. You might also be able to trigger multiple flashes with the same unit, but I'd have to learn more about it.

The real way is to use pocket wizards, but they are big bucks and not made for the average joe.

have you ever considered a more basic light setup?

i know this shot used an ordinary lamp for lighting and i think it came out pretty well

just find yourself a battery powered lamp, you can always expirment with different bulbs for different effects too, and probably a cheap option. Lighting should be more mild than a strobe flash too, probably just have to increase the exposure time
