Man, those Volcanos look sick! I'm hesitant on the 40mm offset though. I wonder why the guy at Tire Trends told me 45mm??? Maybe its because the ones I asked about were the 18x7.5s and not 19s...

Dude, I suggest you just go for them 19''s. At first I was thinking about 18''s also, but it doesnt make a difference at all from the stock 17''s we first had... It'll look like you never changed it at all.. plus the tire.. ur gonna have to deal with the gap it's gonna give you.. what about your drop? Is it already dropped? How low?

I'll be lowering my car before I get wheels. I'll be lowering it on Eibach Pro drop, so 1.6F+1.4R. I'm pretty sure that I won't be getting 19s. I live in the Northeast where potholes is a part of our daily life. Plus, I'm pretty sure 18s will look fine for me paired with 235/40/18 tires. So right now I'm looking for some 18x7.5s with 45+ offset.

I see, coo coo. Damn bro, you haven't seen the potholes we got here in Honolulu..forget about calling them "potholes"... their more of damn CRATERS! The state keeps filling them up but give it a week or two and they're back, especially when it rains.

I wonder why the roads are so bad there? I was just in Oahu a few months ago and I don't remember the highways being bad...now the back roads...that's a whole different story. I was in the backroads of Kailua and they were really beat up. I guess the island of Oahu just doesn't put their tax money into fixing up the roads because there shouldn't be any reasons why you would have potholes...I mean, it doesn't snow there so no ice/snow/salt/snow plows/etc... to damage the roads.

I dunno man, the state eats up our money like nothing and they use the money on projects we dont even need. There's always road construction everywhere these days.. I think the roads in Kailua are better than the ones in town. Ever drove on the lane where the buses drive over? Oh my god... its like 4-wheel terrain. A lot of the major roads people drive on have been repaved recently so its getting just a lil better. Who knows when those roads start to get ripped up again..

All I have to say is that I would be scared straight if I had to drive my baby thru one of those rain storms you guys have. The day I flew in, we had to drive back to Kailua in this crazy downpour. We couldn't see a damn thing and if the roads are as bad as you say, we could of driven right into a massive hole.

Thats what sucks about being on the Windward side, especially Kailua. It always rains there, and when it rains.. it really rains. Its not so bad in other parts of Oahu. Older residential streets are the worst so I drive madd slow..depends where you are tho.. it helps to remember where the spots are..

It looks a bit odd, I personally don't like CF hoods on dark cars.

The only reason why I would get a CF Hood is if I had a light exterior to make it a nice color contrast. But since I love and wanted the NHB exterior, no CF hood is on my list of future mods.

Do you mean to say that the CF hood is only 15 lbs lighter than stock? I thought the weight reduction of a CF hood would be much more.

I'd be curious as to the weight of the stock hood, to figure out what the weight drop actually is. Did you notice the weight reduction on a butt dyno?

If you want to feel the effects of weight reduction, just try driving around with a near empty fuel tank and then fill it up. The fuel tank can hold 143 lbs of gasoline.

True, but I'd be curious as to how the weight reduction affects the balance as well. Obviously it will improve the ratio between front and rear but how much. The literature suggests a 50% reduction in weight from the stock hood but if the CF hood only weighs 15lbs, that would suggest a much greater reduction than 50% unless the stock hood only weighs 30lbs. If you can drop even 100 lbs from the hood, the balance would improve to 58/42 ratio. For $415 plus shipping that would be worthwhile just for a performance upgrade let alone the factor

I'd consider it since I like how it looks on PWP, but CF hoods put you in a craptastic class for SCCA AutoX. Weighing if its worth swapping hoods every week during the summer, I'd say no.

Very Nice! How much did that Black TSX drop his car? Looks mad low.

Oh, and I'm still thinking about those TSW Volcanos in 18s. Wheels Direct quoted me $1255 shipped for the 18x7.5s w/ +40 Offset and Falken Ziex 512 Tires in 225/40/18. I'm going to hold on to the email the guy sent me and then make my decision after I get my suspension installed.

The blk TSX looks pretty mean huh? His drop isn't much lower than mines tho.. although my back end looks higher ..I'd go lower but then I wouldn't wanna be scraping my fenders. He wasnt sure of his drop.. he said that he just lowered it till he was satisfied with his tires tucked in. LOL As for ur rims, they finally told you +40mm??? Hahahah, its about time man.
