Let me help you!
Ouch, that's so sad to see =(
i hate it when cars just drive over stuff or swerve at the last minute (ie: not giving you any clue that something is up ahead).
Just this morning there was something in the street on the way to work, and I noticed people just decided to go over it (letting it go between the wheels)...one person did run over it, but luckily I had already past it

i had something similar happen when i had my jetta, it was on the right side of my car, something got kicked up (in queens, too) and hit right between the windows on the passenger side (b-pillar) and scratched up the window and dented up the b-pillar, it sucks, cuz again, just like you, there was nothing i could do about it. i actually didn't even know until i heard it hit, because mine was on the side of my car

Wow! That's actually quite a bit of damage. Through the primer and all the way down to the metal. That really sucks. You'll probably need a new hood unless you want to use "bondo" or something.

$1700-$2400 depending on if I get a new hood or not. The body shop guy said they might not want to pay for a new hood because its not that much damage & can be fixed instead of replaced. So thats 700 dollar difference.I put it in the shop to be looked at by an adjuster next week.

thanks for the condolences. & your right. There was actually a doctor that was killed by a shotgun slug sized piece of debris, that penetrated his windshield.
