Cool New H9 fogs, some leds, some snow... nothing special

Just felt like sharing some recent pics / cheap mods.

Nokya H9 fogs, modded to work in the housings:

First, to make everything perfect, you have to mod the H9 housing. As detailed in another thread, H11 bulbs have a single vertical divider piece in their connector, while H9s have 2, one from the top (closest to bulb) and one on the bottom. Use a utility knife to remove the upper one, so it will fit in the socket for the H11.

Next, notice the metal flares at the top, they have very slightly different patterns:

I used my dremel with a cutoff wheel to take out a small part of the metal at the 11-o'clock position. After doing that, it fit easily into our stock housings. It was giving me a lot of trouble before.

Here's some pics with them on:

And my new avatar... JDM ANGRY!

Also... did those JDMs look brighter to anyone else?
I bought more of the Superstar w/ heatsink LEDs from autolumination, these bulbs are too cool. Man, they are a lot brighter than the previous PIAAs I had in there. Sorry I don't have any good comparison pics, but they are so bright, my stupid digicam can't focus on them to take a pic!

(ok, maybe I nudged the camera by accident too... and its a pos camera.)

And finally, another weather pictorial. This weekend we were supposed to get rain here. They they said sleet / wintery mix. Instead, we got 6" of fluffly wonderful snow. Not so shabby, except I had to go out multiple times to clean off the cars!

(This is my other new JDM mod... 2007 Toyota Highlander Limited 4x4 V6!)

(JDM plastic deck furniture... no, really, made in japan, wtf bbq!)

Thats all. Nothin special. Hope you enjoy.

Awesome pics bro, looks very nice!

So where exactly do you have those superstar w/heatsink LED's?, is that in your side of you headlight? Can those be swaped right into an 06? Are those the same 1 LED you have in your doors and (i think) license plate?

But yeah, car looks great. How is the distance with those H9's?

Have you replaced your Reverse lights? I'm debating between the 32 LED from autolumination and the Raybrig 112.

No it's not bent. It just sags like that to fit the contour of the windshield. Mine does that too.

Eur - no problem. As said above, they're Nokya's, straight from eBay. I'm free most of this weekend.

crazyazn - yeah, brighter than stock filament bulbs! quite impressive for LEDs... they're on autolumination.com

Acurasrule - yes, fit as a direct swap with the stock bulb / housing / location. Also, no, I have not replaced any tail lights with LEDs, I have not seen any 7440/7443 style bulbs that emit nearly as much light as the stock filament bulbs do, and I do not believe in compromising safety for looks! I tried a similar 24-led style for my front blinkers, but the light emission was dissapointing, and I went back to bulbs. However, if these superstar style leds come out in a 7440 configuration that is extremely bright, I may try them.

LoveMyTsx - those are valeo ultimates, they have a bit of a spring like quality to them which keeps them countoured to the winshield. Most reflex style wipers are like that (aka 06 stock style).

He does not have Yellow Film over his fogs.

I've been running H9 Fogs just as long (just a little less) as him, and no problems so far.

no problems. They are very yellow when the lights are on (even daytime) and white / clear when off, just like I like it.

i believe the H9s are brighter than the H11s and still work with the existing fog harnesses (just need to be slightly modded as mentioned in OP).

H9's have front-directed output that H11s lack and are 65w, brighter than H11s.

Gotcha. H9 is basically a high-beam bulb then.
