My wheels are finally here......

I've been waiting for these wheels for almost 3 months. They finally arrived last week, and the tires finally arrived yesterday. They look gorgeous. The wheels are Volk GT-7 19x8 +40mm offset. Tires are Falken GR-Beta FK-451 235/35/19. The car is dropped about 2-1/4" with TEIN FLEX. Yes, there was some rubbing in the front, but none at the rear. The tires were rubbing on the top clip that holds the fender liner. What I did was I removed the top 3 clips and put the liner behind the metal tabs. Now there is little to no rubbing. Anyways, here are several pics.

Thanks all for the compliments.

I was so happy when they're finally on the car. I was also very impressed by the ride quality with the drop and the 19s. I gotta give that to the TEIN FLEX because I can adjust the ride height independent from the shock travel. Therefore, the ride is just like when I was on the stock wheels and 3/4" higher. I'm now looking into ways to eliminate the front rubbing completely. I like the drop, so raising the car up is not an option. This may sound crazy to some of you, but I'm looking into increasing the negative camber (not too much, but just enough) in the front to eliminate rubbing.

I'm going back into the old days when I prefered big wheels and big drop......like my Prelude several years ago.

That looks sweet, vwong. How are you liking the GR-Betas? I had a set before on my integra and they were decent, if a tad noisy.

Really, those are +40 offset and 8 inch wide? I'm just surprised that there's only minimal rubbing with that offset and 235 series tires. I guess I have more options now if I ever wanted to get some wheels. Looks great!

You're VOLKS look GREAT!!!
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you spend on that setup, including the wheels, tires, and TEIN Flex?
By the way, is the TEIN Flex a coil-over system?

hey vwong, is +40 the highest offset the volks would come in? I was sort of eying some that come in 19x8 +42, do you think that'd rub w/ aggresive lowering with coilovers? Its barely better than +40

That's really nice. I never liked those wheels looking at them sitting in a box, or on a shelf, but it looks damn good on your TSX. I think the drop and kit set it off!

Sorry, I wasn't able to reply this past weekend because I was at Laguna Seca watching the SPEED WC races.

Anyway, thanks again for all the compliments.

Just want to answer some questions, I got the rims for $2100 and about $930 for the tires. I got the TEIN awhile ago, and I think I paid $1250 for them. So everything emptied my bank account by $4280. I don't have any camber kits yet, but like I said in the previous post, I'm looking into front camber kits to get more negative camber.

xizor, depending on the rim you're planning to get, Volk has some other offset to choose from. For the GT-7 19x8, there is the +40mm offset B type and +49mm offset C type (both have 50mm rim depth, another term for lip size). I believe the difference between the B type and the C type is the backspacing. C type will probably fit with the stock brake calipers, however might not fit with aftermarket big brake calipers such as Brembo, Stoptech, etc. Here is the size chart for GT-7 from Rays, http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/...?modelName=GT7. Which wheel are you looking into, xizor? Volk SF-Winning, or Gram Lights 57F-Pro? These are the only 2 (I think) that have the 19x8 +42mm offset size. With aggressive drop like mine, you will probably have some rubbing, AND YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL AT DRIVEWAYS. Drops like dzuy's, you should be fine. Just ask dzuy, his Volks are 19x8 +43mm offset on the same size tires, and he says no rubbing.

not telling but its just a pipe dream for now. I have eibach's like dzuy so if I went w/o coilovers I'm sure they'd be fine. one question, would raising your drop .5in in the front prevent rubbing?

That's what I've done to the front. I set mine to -0.4 degree to eliminate rubbing during hard cornering and reduce understeer. Btw, nice setup!

Probably will, but I like the drop now. Oh...I also stiffened up the front shocks alittle to prevent rubbing.

I'm looking into more than -0.4 degree, probably between -1.5 to -2.0 degrees.

yea i haven't experienced any rubbing, even with five people in the car.

but i'm considering getting koni yellows to lower my car a tad and to soften up the ride.
