My FINAL PROJECT FOR 2006

The process...

After removing stock calipers and rotors....

Time to weigh them........STOCK Vs ALCON

Stock Rotors 300mm + Single Pot Calipers and Brake pads
Weight : 14.5kg

Alcon 2 piece floating rotors 343mm + 4 Pot Monoblock Calipers and Brake pads
Weight : 12.8kg

Weight savings: Nearly 2kg of savings per caliper, rotors & brake pads
exact weight difference is 1.7kg

Putting the BBK in

absolutely an engineering beauty...

fitment is perfect...no skimming is needed

Finally.....

wooohooooooooooooooooooo

A little FR while driving on the way home.

oh well its been raining cats and dogs these few days...anyway
the difference can be easily noticed at the very 1st traffic light
stop.

Pedal feel is indeed very progressive and responsive. No sudden
brake jerk at all. The brake bite is good ( even though its not bedded
in properly yet).

Thats all for now, more when i bed in the brakes properly

Special thanks to Maximus Racing

Thanks to James who put went through all the trouble and made this BBK possible for the CL7s / CL9s . Appreciate the all effort and technical support.

http://www.maximusracing.com

Really impressive product.

Huh? U must be grossly mistaken here....

ALCON is now da shit in Singapore.... It retails at SGP4.8k, more expensive than Brembo GT and is very exclusive with only 15 sets brought in currently.

Here's the link to the distributor in Singapore:

http://www.maximusracing.com/alcon.html

and here's some more pictures of it

If I do not recall wrongly, the size of the rotors are 343MM and it clears my 17" 8.0JJ +45

Alcon is a name synonymous with the manufacture and supply of high specification brakes
and clutches for motorsport and high performance road vehicles.

In the world of motorsport, we are a Technical Partner to the Honda F1 Racing Team, supplying brake calipers of a patented design; while co-operating with a number of other teams to develop the next generation of F1 braking systems. We have also provided all the brake hardware to support Citroën’s dominance of the World Rally Championship [WRC] in recent years.

In the US, the 2003, 2004, and 2005 IRL titles have all been won using Alcon brakes, and our product is specified as mandatory for the hard-braking road course races. In the world of NASCAR, we are proud to count Penske, Hendrick Motorsport and Ray Evernham Motorsport amongst our front-running customers; while a new partnership with friction manufacturer, Raybestos in 2006, is making the use of Alcon designed and manufactured brake components still more widespread in the top stock car series.

In addition the motorsport departments within Audi, BMW, Ford, Honda (Dome), Peugeot,
Renault and Volkswagen count amongst our many customers. In the field of specialist and
performance road cars we serve an impressive list of prestigious road car manufacturers,
including Aston Martin, Brabus, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche and Prodrive. In this field too,
our reputation for technology and innovation is highly visible, no more so than the calipers for the 2006 Bentley Continental GT Diamond Series, vast but lightweight 8-piston calipers
designed specifically to clamp the world’s largest road car brake discs, ceramic items of
420mm diameter.

...I learn something new everyday!...thank you sir.

My friend works for Hendrick Motorsports in Concord, NC...i'll ask him if he's seen a pair on Alcon brakes come through their bay door...
