The nice thing is the front bumper is black plastic under the paint, so it doesn't rust. And people with black cars are really lucky because the chips won't show!

Tell them you want a tape that wont leave a residue. I think its painting masking tape automotive grade. The stuff I have is 3 inches wide.

Not sure if you search around a lot on this site, but there has been at least one person that truely cleaned the car with an abbrassive pad and asked how to get rid of the scratches. You'd be surprised what people don't joke about..
