My Euro Accord Type-S
Hi there,
I'm new to this forum, so I would like to properly introduce myself.
About me...
My name is Richard, I live near Rotterdam (The Netherland), I'm 29 years old.
About my cars
I recently took delivery of a Graphite Pearl Euro Honda Accord 2.4i Type-S. I really love the car, it looks great and handles very well.
My other car is a Peugeot 206 GTi, it has a 2.0 ltr 138 hp engine which makes it quite fast for a small car...
Here are some pics;

Oke, here are some answers to the questions.
The outside of the car is almost standard, the only options were the 17" gunmetal wheels and optional lowering by Honda. The rest is just the Type-S as it is sold here in Europe. The 2.4 ltr engine puts out 190 HP
Thank you all for the compliment about the pictures, photography is another hobby of mine. More pictures can be found on my Website

The suspension of the Type-S is the same as the one on the Dutch Executive version. But I don't know if it is the same as the TSX's.
The suspension on the Euro models is pretty firm, we like it that way I know that most US models have a different setup because you guys want a little more comfort
In my case the lowering made the car just a more firm, but it sure looks a hell of a lot better!

If you compare my accord 2.4 Executive Dutch's one...there are next exterior difference: - No motor diference.
- accord type S's suspension: OEM one from japan (1 1/4 inch)
- I am using Eibach pro KIT...little bit lower and harder one.
- Type S is also having 17" OEM wheels grey colored and it's not standard
on 2.4 Executive. I payed 1.800 usd for 17" OEM wheels like on type-S and Bridgestone Potenza S03 PP 225/45/17
And one thing more...accord type S has OEM body kit already in "base" configuration....

Those Bridgestone's are a great choise. I had them on my previous car, they have so much grip. When my Michelins are worn out I will put the Bridgestone's on

Yep my Type-S has the 16" gunmetal stock wheels as well.
On my previous car a 5th gen Prelude I also went to Michelin but prefered the stock Dunlops, the Michelins didn't seem to grip as well for some reason.
Have any of you done any audio upgrades to the accord ?
I had the boot 6 disc changer fitted but I'd like to get some better speakers for the rear.

I am going to install a 4-channel amp (disconnect the stock one), Infinity Kappa components in the front doors and some subwoofer solution, such as a 12" base. I will get this professionally installed beginning of May.
I am considering getting better hardware though, I have an offer of Focal Utopia speakers, Focal 12" sub and an Audison amp, all for the tidy sum of USD 1200. But I am wondering if it's going to be worth it beyond the more modest equipment I already have, especially considering that I will after all be running it all from the existing HU, which may have autoloudness and that kind of BS.
What do you guys think about it?

I think upgrading the speakers and adding a better amp will get you much better sound. From what I have heard the Focal Utopia's are pretty good. Maybe just a little to harsh on the high's.
The factory HU modifies the signal to the rear speakers so it gets less high's. Maybe it would be better to get the signal for the amp from the front output only and slip it, so you control the amount of base and high's yourselve.
Als don't forget to put some kind of deadning materials on the inside of the doors, this will make a huge improvement and if done properly it will stop the doors from rattling.
Please take some pictures while installing this equipment I'm very interested!
