Nice. Always like looking at the PWP. Tint kind of depends on where you live and the legal limit. I think general consensus is the darker the better.

i'm having 15 % for front side windows, and 5% for the rest of them. you get plenty of privacy at the back.. no one sees you when you're sitting at the back during daytime and nighttime. the only problem with dark tints is that when it's raining during nighttime you'll have more difficulty to see pedestrain. that's my opinion. nice car, congrats and welcome to the tsx family

I live in NorCal and I got mine done at Rocky Mountain Windowtint. I have 5% in the back and 50% in the front. I had that in my Denali before and it's good enough for the effect and to keep the cops from bugging you.

Darker is much better! 20% is a nice round figure.

Cali tint law says no tint is legal on the front windows and front windshield, and up to 30% on the rear.

I just had my 06 PWP done last weekend with the 3M Color Stable line of film. According to their website:

'3M patented a technology for producing its own nano-carbon polyester. This revolutionary and unique process, allows for maximum heat rejection without metals, which can interfere with radio and/or satellite signals. It also gives our films a beautiful neutral black look with unpararell color stability.'

I got 35% all around and I'm not sure if it is because of the white color of the car or the nature of the film itself, but it sure is dark for 35%. I like it though....

WTF has 3m been smoking!?!?

If you click on that link and go to 3m's site where it explains their Color Stable film, it says this...

premium Color-Stable automotive window films that hold their color, are high heat rejecting and don't interfere with your satellite signals.

Then when you go below that and read "The Additional Information Part", it says this!

This revolutionary and unique process, allows for maximum heat rejection without metals, which can interfere with radio and/or satellite signals.

?!?!?!?!?!

First they tell you it will not interfere with your satelite signals, than they tell you it will!!!

So which is it?! I'm unsure what to make of this as I am picking up my new 06 in a few days from the dealer, with navi and 3M tinted windows!

I think they meant that other films containing metal particles may interfere...the CS line has carbon particles, no metal. However, the FX-HP line does appear to include metal, while the FX-ST is dye based.

Ahh I feel like an idiot now!

The way they word it is kind of misleading. That's a relief, I just re read the info on this product and I should be ok hehe

I'm a little over stressed I guess from the excitement of finally getting my car in a few days.

BTW Matt, thats a really nice ride youve got there. The tint looks great! Seeing all these great shots of PWP TSX's almost makes me wish I'd gone that route instead of CGP hehe

Nice ride. I've got 35% tint on my car. Search for pics under my username. I think it's in the "photo gallery" section. I've got 35% madico charcool. It's not too dark but it's got a slight reflective quality so it looks a lot darker than it actually is. I think it looks perfect.

Leonvsclon on here got the exact same tint as me in the exact same place. He thinks his is perfec too.

Just a note, make sure you either get moleskin installed of you clean out the plastic wiper blade that hits your window when you roll it down. Otherwise you will get tons of tint scratches. The more carefree way is the moleskin.

Here's the link to those pics

It does look very nice with that tint, I'm getting a CGP and having the dealer put 35% all around also. Looks nice I think. I'd like it a tad darker but you're asking for trouble if you do. At least where I live.

A tad darker? Nah... it actually looks a little darker in person. Those pics were taken on a sunny day. Pretty much 35 or 20% you'll be able to see through it during the sunny days. Mine looks darker in person because the camera can't capture the slight reflective quality to it. I dont know why. You only see that in person which makes the tint look darker in person.

But i think my tint brand/color and all of that % stuff is perfect. I like it.

Matt, can I ask how much you paid to have that film applied? I'm looking at the same brand/type of film and got a quote the other day that seemed really high to me. Was just wondering what others were paying out there for the same.

Yup, 35% does look really good. When I was at the dealer going over tint percentage, a saleman had his car with 20% on it and I would rather have had that then 35%. But 35% is the limit legally in Idaho so thats what I'm going with.
