My '05 TSX
I can't believe it took me so long to get a TSX. I've been doing a lot of reseach, including reading threads on this forum, and now I'm a proud owner of a '05 TSX - Black on Black. This car is truly a masterpiece...only wished that I had got it sooner.

After:
Quick question for everyone, I paid around $1200 for the new rims from the dealership and I thought that I get the original ones back to keep, but that is not the case, is this the case at other dealerships? Thanks.

uh yeah, they are yours to keep. with the price you paid for new rims and the dealer taking away your old rings...you definatly got scammed on those wheels. you could have made a couple hundred bucks on ebay for the old rims, i guess now the dealership is doing so. =/

YOUR SUPPOSED TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL RIMS!!!! I ASKED MY LOCAL ACURA DEALERSHIP WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GET A PRICE FOR THOSE RIMS. I decided I will just get Volks since those are a bit too much. But your supposed to keep your rims. YOU PAID FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who at the dealership told you that you don't get your factory rims back? If its some bullshit employee, I bet he's trying to jack them for himself. Speak to the General Manager and ask him when did this become policy? Where is it written on paper?
Call Acura's company office and talk to someone. Tell them that you bought optional rims and the dealer never gave you back the original factory rims. Logic would say that they are yours, as you paid for the factory rims when you bought the car. The optional rims are yours too because you shelled out $1200 for them.
OR
You can sort of play dumb and call the dealer and tell them "I got optional rims (that I paid $1200 for) installed on my car at this dealership, when can I come by and pick up my original factory rims?"
If all else fails, threaten them with legal action.
Oh man, if I lived close by, I would gladly go to the dealer with you and tear them a new one.

Can't comment on the factory rims, but I did want to say that is almost exactly what I want. Black on Black, but I would get those rims since I could get some aftermarket ones that I would like better with that money. Either way, great looking TSX!

Thanks everyone for your response...I will definitely go to the dealership tomorrow and get my rims back!! roughrider, I wished you did live closer...we could have made a scene at the dealership if things didn't go our way...but thanks for all the advice.
I'll let you know what happens.

I asked my salesman about upgrading rims and he said upfront you don't get to keep the stocks. One more reason I went aftermarket, you get a lot more rim for the money.

Ask them who their Regional Service manager is, if they are giving you a hard time, maybe the regional manager can help you out.
It's not like you were buying the car and asking for the silver stars instead of the original stock rims, it looks like you paid full price for the rims.

It's just a way for a dealership to try to make more money. If you ask up front what the price is, and if you get to keep your original wheels, you'd be in a better position. The dealership's position will probably be that the $1200 included some type of credit for your rims.
I would combat that statement with this fact. The Silver Star rims RETAIL for $1034.00 for a set with stems and centercaps. Even including balancing/mounting at say, $100, and tax, they shouldn't be more than $1200 out the door, so there's really no justification for not giving you back your factory rims.
There's a dealer out in Cali, Acura of Escondido, that does blowout deals on eBay. If you need any more factory stuff, you should check them out. Their eBay username is AofEParts.
The car looks great, BTW. Good luck with it!

Just want to let everyone know that I GOT my stock rims back!! I went into the dealership and simply told them that I did not sign anything which said that I would trade-in my stock rims for the ones that I purchased....the salesperson tried to give me a hard time but I told her that it was ridiculous and that I'm not going to pay $1200 to replace rims that I already bought!! In the end, the manager helped me load my stock rims into my trunk!
Thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement. I'm a very happy TSX owner.

i called and he said that when they charge $1200 for the wheels, that includes a credit for "trading in" my old wheels, and he claims the wheels themselves are worth about $300 and the tires cost even more...so i "got a deal"...when i explained that people at other dealerships were paying the same amount and getting their wheels back he said that other dealers set different prices and have different practices...so each dealer has the right to charge whatever they want on dealer installed options basically.
that kind of sucks.
