Ok, this whole Mugen grill thing is confusing me.

Can somebody please explain this to me in terms a non-mechanical person can understand??

The first pic on this thread http://www.clubtsx.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=5584 has a hideous "tooth" sticking down out of the grill. Is that what its gonna look like?? That's horrible!!

Next, on the kingmotorsports website the pics of the Mugen grill look nothing like the pics I've seen on these threads of installed grills. What's the deal? The pics look like they were photoshopped. There's no chrome edge on the hood.

Ok, now assuming I order the grill from them, what will I get?? Does that chrome lip come with it or is there other pieces I need to buy separately??

How much to paint it and should the chrome piece be painted as well?

Finally, how hard is installation??

Sorry for all the questions but I've seen so many different pics and threads and explanations that I'm a little lost. Thanks in advance.

ok, Kingmotor painted the "tooth" in black to match the color of the grille, so you cant really see it from the pic, it was not photoshopped. and they acutally replace the chrome hood trim with wutever color they got over there, you can purchase the hood trim from www.boomplustoys.net for 54 USD

Dani, i'm sure you can paint the trim or buy prepainted trim but you can't tell me that the pictures at king motorsports aren't photoshopped!

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

If those trim pieces aren't photoshopped then the car must be made of modeling clay.....

wow, that's a pretty bad photoshopped pic too. you can easily tell the "blurry" lines when the rest of the car is sharp.

Is it photoshopped or is that the Mugen front bumper...ie: part of the body kit?

Of course its photoshopped. The rim of the hood looks like it rear-ended another car.

obviously photoshopped, but why? assuming that the original photo showed the stock chrome trim piece, why didn't they just colorize it instead of trying to smudge/blend it away?

anyway, i got a $408 quote from boomplustoys for the mugen grill and the trim piece prepainted in carbon grey. i love that everything is prepainted and ready to install, but $408 seems a bit high to me. plus the wait is 4-6 weeks.

Just order it from King and have it painted localy. I got my grill from them in two days and it will be ready tomorrow from the paint shop. Saves you a lot of time. You can even have them remove and paint the chrome piece for you.

They are removing the chrome and priming it before it's painted. So no worries
