9 LED will not fit as the bulb will be too big. it will still work but u wont be able to put the clear plastic cover thing over it as the 9 LED bulbs are pretty big in diameter

Did you do the larger style festoon for the interior domes? I've been contemplating those, eventhough my current LED domes are working fine.
The festoon dome lamps I have are the ones with 6 big LEDs on them, which I got to replace the smaller, dimmer lamps with 4 small LEDs. They're a lot brighter.

I'm thinking I might get them then. I like how bright the current ones are, but I've run into a couple of situations at night where more light would've been good.

BTW, your license plate LEDs are working fine after some time, right? I was anxious to replace mine due to the aforementioned vibration issue.

Would the 6-LED T13 bulbs listed here work or do you think their OD is too big? http://superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

I'm using their x5 LED wedge bulb and I would be concerned that these are too long. I'm not sure that there is 1 1/8" of space for these, which is why I always choose the "normal" 168/194 wedge bulbs for the doors and license plate sockets. If it were a tail light or side marker, I'd say this would fit without issue.

Speaking of 168/194 wedge bulbs for the doors and license plate sockets, I noticed the LED ones while at PEP Boys yesterday. They had two types, one normal LED and one Bright LED. Each comes in a set of two. I think the Bright LED's were about $10.00 for the set. I may try these.

got em in and they look sweet!

one question - did anyone else have trouble snapping the housing of the bulb back into place?? i found the 168/194 led bulb to be much larger than stock; thus having the bulb touching the plastic cover where the light reflects out from.

Hey, do you like how your plate lights turn out? I just looked at them at night, and i don't really like it. It is probably because half of the LEDs are covered because it's not fitting right so it's not really showing alot of light.

You know i'm 'ok' with how they look as well. I actually e-mailed brian from tec-toyz last nite and he said a lot of people have actually used the 9led (921) bulbs and see no problem (and of course shoot out more light.)

Can someone here confirm the use of the 921 bulb for the license plate lights? Also, how long are the 921 bulbs compared to the 168/194? (Since there seems to be clearance issues with the 168s)

p.s. i saw my interiors at night yest, looked decent actually but might just go to the 6leds, dont wanna squint everytime i get in my car cuz of the brightness of the 9s

that's odd, because I thought they were not bright at all. I can actually look into my map lights, I wasn't able to with the stock bulbs.

You are doin a good job in convincing me to get the 9s

do they give off that purpleish glow like how it seems like in the pic posted on the other thread?

yea they do actually...they're not like the HID type of white...they're kinda blue. The first night I looked at mine...I unlock the doors and the whole interior lights up....i feel like I was getting into a space shuttle! my windows aren't tinted...so it was really cool!

I changed my maplights to 9 Leds but, I think, they are too bright, so I am going for 6Leds and 9 Led for the Dome light, since the dispenser is really thick and does not dispense enough light from a 6 Led. Also, i am going in for 9 Led in the glove box and 12 Leds in the trunk both white. Rest all the lights in my car are blue (maplight, dome, doors and license plate)

Yea it seems like they light up the whole interior like crazy from the pics i've seen! haha you weren't kiddin about the space shuttle feeling

I think i'm pretty set on getting the 6's i think...9s sound cool but i think the 6leds would be right for me and much better than the 4s! thanks for all the insight though

and hopefully we find someone who has the 921 leds for their license plate bulbs to make sure they fit correctly!

I know they're not LED's but very bright if you look at the photo's on that site. I just posted to see if anyone had tried an alternative to the LED's since it seems most have issues with them above the license plate.

Only after a month one of the bulbs are flickering! I'm going to replace it with another one and see how long it lasts. If it fails again I'll go back to regular incandescent bulbs.

Thanks.

I think we need a 3rd light above the center of the plate. I used the 6LED bulbs. I think some members are trying 9LED. Should be brighter.

All in all a cheap mod. Under $20.

The installation wasn't that bad. Had to play with it a bit, but once I figured it out, not bad.

did you have any fitment issues? i heard that some of the guys here with the 9LED set had a little bit of a fitment issue as far as the bulb touching the plastic cover..
