Thumbs up Joshua Tree National Park

The signs read 4x4 only, but we couldn't resist visiting every corner of the park.

We scraped the bottom on the ground a few times, picking up some sand on the way, but the TSX did great -- very comfortable and fun to drive.

The Bullhorn Sheep (1 of est. 250 in the park)

I would have to list my favorite national parks (in the west) as:

Yosemite
Grand Canyon
Bryce
Sequoia
Death Valley

followed by many others.

Yosemite has recovered very well since the fires and floods. I was there in 2005, and enjoyed it a lot. One can barely tell there's been some major changes in the valley floor layout.

Meh, the grand canyon is overrated imo

followed by many others.
Many, many others. Actually, add Zion to the hot list! In my other life I was a west coast climber. Now I'm stuck out here where the best we have is Seneca Rocks. Just a wee bit different. Makes me wish I had taken pictures that good!

Awesome shots. I was there back in 2003, but now that I'm in Western Canada, those pics are making me think "ROAD TRIP!"

There's a great twisty road going up from Anza Borrego to the top of the mountains on your way back to San Diego from the Salton Sea that I would have loved to have driven in the TSX. Only had a Focus rental when I was there.

Just visiting. I'm headed to Brazil in December and back to Italy in February... I start my MBA studies in Milan in March.

No, I'm still selling it. I already washed it up...

Someone from the Bay Area made an offer for it, but I'm leary about doing business with someone from the other side of the state. They haven't even looked at the car yet!

Thanks! It was cold outside (48 F), and we were hanging around the tripod/camera on our shorts (S. California mindset). My dad wanted to me pack it up so we could go to the hotel; so I only got a couple good shots of the sky.

I wish I had more time to adjust the camera... I think I could have managed some better shots.

I spent 5 hours. It's almost impossible not to with a black car...

My family used to have a ranch in Brazil and the roads were much much worst than these, especially when it rained. The mud was dark red and made its way into everything. I thought if we could make it through those roads with a Passat, the desert should be easy on a TSX.

It did incur one little scratch when the tripod fell on a door. A couple day's worth of dust will cover it up...
