Yeah, some close-up shots would be nice to see how close the tint is covering the red.

well the tint is actually larger than the taillights so you use a razor blade to trim the around the taillight. I will take close ups but I did a poor cutting job.

very cool... thats exactly how dark i'd want my lights to be... so there is cutting involved? more chances for me to stuff up the install haha. I'll more than likely order them now. a question CCColtsicehockey... you know how they tail lights arent completely flat (there is that slight bulge or peak directly in the middle of one of the "circles")? Was it hard to avoid bubbling around this area and in general during hte install?

Looks good, but could you take some more pics with the lights on? I'd like to know how much light gets through.

By the way, does anyone know the legality of a mod like this? I'm interested in doing something similar but wouldn't be if I'd fail inspection.

kinda weird looking.

you should have taken the whole tail light off then apply the film, that way you probably dont have to cut it.

That looks pretty good...dark enough for a tint but not dark enough that it defeats the purpose of the tails...i like it...would look good on a black one

Colts -

What is the quality of the film...is it thicker then regular tint film or is it just window tint you apply to your rear lights?

they look awesome!
but...am i the only one who thinks that the picture with lights on made no difference comparing to the lights off one??
CCColtsicehockey...how's the visibility of the tail-lights (when it's on) with tint film on? 50% less?!
me like those, but i wont go for it if they block the tail-light beam too much.

thanks!

This pic is with your Greddy Evo2 right? It looks like it sticks out a lot. Do you have any pics that you can post here or PM me with that shows more of the exhaust at different angles. Thanks!

btw. the tinted tail lights look ok. I still like the contrast between the original red tail lights and the Carbon Gray.

I'm not knocking anybody's tastes because I'm a big supporter of "different strokes for different folks", it keeps the world interesting. However, I can't get into the tinted taillights. I like bright lights. I like to see where I'm going, for people to see me coming and I certainly want people to see me stopping, brighter's better with me.

I also agree with virtualbong about the contrast. It's also easy for me to determine if the car I'm coming up on is some new and interesting piece thanks to the newer and brighter tailights. Tinted lights of any kind dull that new car look for me.

Just my opinion, don't let it affect you. You got to doowutchyalike.

I have the tail lights on SSM and the contrast is GREAT! Also, the film DOES NOT affect visibility.

It lights up just as bright as compared to a tail light with no film.
