Got any sound clips of you specifically *not* flooring it. I'm curious how loud it is driving regularly.

Yeah... I'd be interested in that too. I haven't pulled the trigger on an intake yet because I don't want to have a car that sounds obnoxious when I'm just driving around town, or running out to grab a bite to eat during my lunch at work. From everything I've read on this forum, Injen is one of the louder ones, while the Comptech version is considered the "quietest." Also, is the intake loud enough that you have to turn your radio much louder?

Actually... Macaddict --- you're in NJ... if you're ever up for a meet, I'd love to hear the intake in person... I think they have a "mini" one for NJ blokes on the weekend of 12/17. PM me if you might be interested...

At idle and normal driving, there is almost no sound coming from the intake. I was driving on the parkway and i did not notice i had it until i had to pass someone...then it was alll........

I have ridden with my mom in the car and she didn't notice a difference in the sound at all. You only hear it when the throttle is open enough to let the sound resonated down the pipe. For example when engine braking it sounds normal becuase the throttle is nearly closed. It's actually good becuase you realize when you are giving a lot of gas(such as when you have it at 2000rpms and the engine is lugging you can here it a little and realize you are wasting gas). However, I took a friend for a ride and he didn't know I had installed the intake. When I WOT'd(wide open throttle) his first comment at the new note was "Wow! did you get exhaust!" It sounds so awesome!! And it makes the car feel sooooo much faster even if you are driving like you always do. I've had it for 2 weeks and I'm still giddy. best $205 I ever spent.

Surprizingly, I dont hear it either, it may be the metal actually resonating the sound better and not allowing the sucking sound to come out...

love it sounds so aggressive
btw to the person who asked about the loudness, CAI is the way to go if you dont want a loud intake with best performance gains. SRI sounds really mean but not as much gains

I've taken my wife many times in my car since installing a CAI and she has no idea the intake is any different. Same with my dad. In both cases I haven't driven at WOT or above 4k -- that's where the deep intake growl kicks in. Sounds awesome, and it's like having your cake and eating it, too.

Under hard acceleration, especially to merge onto the Interstate, the sound tends to actually make people back off and give me space. It's better than using your horn!

Got my intake the beginning of the summer, still not tired of hearing it
Under normal driving conditions, you barely hear it at all, but if u punch it...ohhh you'll hear it. And you guys are right, people do get out of the way haha
To give you an example of just how good it sounds, when i drive by people and im on the gas....they look...heads turn. I passed my one friend with an STI the other day and talking to him the next day he thought i had exhaust lol. It really bring attention to the car.
To anyone thats thinking about getting about it and is worried about sound or anything else...i highly recommend it, by far the best $200 ive spent
