H9 Fog Replacement+Others

hey guys i just got the h9 fog bulbs the other day. had to cut off a little plastic piece and move a little piece of the metal on the bulb to make it fit perfectly into the 07 oem housing. the fogs were perfect. got them off ebay for about $10 they claim to be 8500K not sure if they are. but the looks of it, they look pretty good to me. and the license plate leds, dome leds, and door leds were already installed awhile back. just an update on some pics. enjoy guys

left is OEM bulb right is new bulb

anyways sorry for such bad pics. felt tired and didn't want to take pics with the slr. maybe tomorrow or another day.

I'm jealous that yall over there don't have to have the front license plates. I could take mine off but theres the big plastic frame on there afterwards. Not so easy to remove I'm thinking.

Anyway, from the sound of it, do normal H9s not fit correctly into the OEM fog light housing?

The plastic front plate frame is held on by 2 bolts underneath it, very easy to remove! However, there is an optional 3rd bolt that goes straight through your bumper. Remove your license plate alone first and see if that bolt is there. If not, remove the 2 bottom ones and enjoy a plate-free front bumper.

yeah man the license plate plastic is held by two bolts that goes UNDER your bumper so it doesn't look bad. just hope theres no drillings. anyways it is also illegal to not have your front plates here in cali. and the h9 bulbs do not fit DIRECTLY into the OEM housing. you have to cut off a small piece of plastic off the h9 bulb and they it fits directly into the wire and housing. its a great mod you should consider it i recommend it

Is the 65W ok on the 55W OEM bulb?
I assume the cutting of the plastic and the piece of metal was off the bulb itself not off the fog light housing. Please can you provide some details on what need to be cut and how to do it. thank you

yes the 65W will be fine. there is only a 10 watt difference which in all makes no difference. the cutting is done on the H9 bulb NOT the oem housing. Inside the H9 bulb there is a plastic hanging down that needs to be cut or sanded off. when you compare it to the h11 bulb you take off you will immediately know the difference.

let me know how it turns out

yes they match my HIDS on my xenon headlights very well. it seems maybe they are a bit brighter but hey i love the looks of it. overall using an H9 bulb will give out more lumens compared to the H11 bulb. And yes there a A HUGE BIG difference from the OEM fog light bulbs.

this is a great and cheap mod. increases your visiblity and the looks of your car

lumens= usable visible light
